Wow hypo is some scary shit. I shot 15 ius of humalog and took 75 grams of carbs. I posted about this yesterday. Anyways holy shit!!! About 1 hour on the mark i felt something wierd happening. I knew right away what it was. I ran downstairs to get some quick carbs. By the time i made it down the stairs my heart was racing fast as hell and i was real light headed. Felt like i had just ran 3 miles in 100 degree heat. but i crushed some dextrose and everything get better slowly. A real scare for awhile. Im glad i know what it feels like now. I know exactly when its coming. Some said to take more than plenty carbs so you never have this scare. But id rather flirt with the line and know exactly when hypo is going to hit then to be guessin all the time. Insulin is goo stuff but definintley scary shit. peace

15 iu's is alot. How much do you weigh? Everyone has different insulin sensitivity, but for me, at 250#, I've found that I can't go over 12 iu's without side effects. Some days I'll do 20 iu's, but split into two shots at difffernet times of day. Better to split it up than shoot so much at once.

Ive been taking 15iu post workout. But, I only workout 3 days a week. I was thinking of adding an am inject of 15iu also. Should I do the am inj M-F or ed? Also, I ve never had a problem with going hypo. I always get enough carbs. If fact, i go to bed two hrs after inj.................galaxy

Been there, and that's a scary 15-20 minutes. Whatever you do, don't take a nap within 4 hours of insulin. You'll wake up scared to death!! Don't ask, personal experience

DUDE, YOU ARE AN IDIOT IF YOU ARE SERIOUS! NO OFFENSE, BUT DON'T FLIRT WITH DEATH! Take in plenty of carbs if you are messing with insulin. I experienced hypo just from Glucophage or Glyburide (I cannot remember which) -- diabetes meds that raise your natural insulin. It was within 15 minutes and NO carbs. I immediately sucked down Sunny-D because it was at my diabetic friend's home that I was messing with the shit and that is why he has sweets planted all over! Do you want someone to come home to find you lying in a diabetic coma?

You know, I experience this anytime I eat more than about 30gms of carbs - especially by themselves. Usually about 1 1/2 hours later I get real sick as in very lightheaded, very shaky, sometimes have a hard time walking, can't think straight, etc.

Because of this, for about two years I have been lifting on almost no carbs. I get so frustrated when someone tells me that I should eat some carbs before I lift, and to be sure and eat a ton of carbs right after, or I won't grow. As an experiment I tried doing this, and though my muscles look a little 'fuller' I am no stronger than before and I am having those hypo episodes again. So, I am going to settle with my previous state of growth, which was just fine, and stay the hell away from carbs - 'cept fiber :)
