Finally benched 500lbs!!!

Gents, I finally did it. Felt great.

By the time I leave here I think I'll have a 520lbs bench, 650ish DL, and 600lbs squat (torn groin x2)...

feeling good. doing the bull dance...

Powerlifting is the shit. I'll post pictures if I can figure this thing out...

Congratulations! Very few men have the ability to reach 500 and even fewer actually accomplish it. My best was a 405 while juiced to the max and with a bench shirt at a body weight of 195. Unfortunately a torn rotator cuff has put me back down in the low 300's.

for a 195lber that is good shit !!!

I weigh 260lbs. I've been powerlifting for about 6 months since I've been in Iraq. I've been a weightlifter/bodybuilder for about 10 years, though. Just never really pushed my strength hard because I was always hurting myself.

Thanks for the responses. I didn't sleep much because I was pretty jacked, but I still feel good today.

I am a commander here, and I have the strongest unit on the camp.

Once I get the pic's and video I'll try to post.

great numbers man. i have been powerlifting now for 4 months. i weigh around 220 and numbers are not the best. but i guess not to bad for a beginner.
raw bench : 360
with shirt: 450 but i got that easy(rage x by inzer)

squat my worst lift: around 550 raw

dl: 510 raw

Damn, you're powerlifting in Iraq? Being in that heat every day could zap 5-10% of your strength easily, maybe even more. You'll probably lift a lot heavier when you come home. And be careful over there to make sure that you do come home safe.

Brow that is a fucking large lift brow.
Be safe man, wish you a safe trip home to u and your unit.

Well I pulled 620. Tried 650 but it was pretty friggin heavy so I just let some air get under the plates for a couple of seconds...

For some reason, when I hit a new PR, it no longer sounds heavy...

TDAN 8, THANKS. if you are raw 360 and 450 in a Rage X, then I am getting a friggin Rage X. I only get about 50lbs carry over in my blast. Your number look good, keep at it.

PLIFTER, yeah, try working out in a gym that is 100+ degrees. I am a sweaty mofo, too.

ERIKB, thanks, bro. I'm home in OCT and going to grad school...

MsBEVERLY, Thanks pretty lady.

rage x is awesome. the thing is it went up pretty easy. i couldn't get 420 to even touch. 450 was the first thing to touch. (double ply).

I prefer a quarter ton, it just sounds heavier. So when people ask what I squat, I tell them 1/4 ton. That is a sick bench though. Congratulations!

congrats on the bench, and the deadlift.

you will definately like the Rage X. I get 110lb carry over in mine (raw bench is 365, shirted 475) and i have the single ply. i'm 220 (well, a little under) and i got the size 50. chart says I should be a 48. but the shirts are good, even if they are a size too big.

if you are looking for a deadlift suit, be careful if you go with the new inzer fusion (its made with the rage x material). their sizing chart is WAY off. all they want is a hip measurement. Mine came in at a 42, but i was swimming in it. they had me mark it off, and are supposed to be sending me a new one all tailored. i needed 6" off the straps, about 12" off the waist, and about 1.5" off the legs.

Thanks, all.

I am seriously considering the Rage X size 54 now. I am 260lbs right now. I had my raw bench up to 455lbs for a while, (I did 405x8 once) so hopefully I'll be pushing around 600 within the next year. Is the Rage X suited more for belly benchers? I am still working my technique, but I am most comfortable just below my sternum right now. Feels weird on my front delts to go so low. Plus, I don't have a giant belly to help my ROM and my arch is still lacking. I'm getting better though. Like I said earlier, I'm learning everything off the internet on my own because there is no one here to help me.

I have the Inzer DL MAX. I used it once so far, but it is hard as hell to get on in a gym that is 99 degrees... Once I get home I'll practice with it some more. Maybe do some squats in it before I buy a squat suit.

I really need to get my squat up. Still squatting close stance and I know I need to go wide, but that means starting from scratch with lighter weights... boo hoo...
