Last night after coming home from church, I really didn't feel like doing any sprints. It was late, I was tired, and I have some type of sinus cold.
But I said, "So what, I'm doing them anyway." So I took my fat butt in the house put on my running shoes and some shorts and went back out to the driveway. I turned my headlights in my truck on bright, did some light stretching, cranked up some hardcore music (my neighbors really appreciate this) and did some suicides.
Here's how I did them. I ran about twenty yards and then back, about forty yards and then back, and about sixty yards then back. Then I repeated the whole thing. I only ran at about 80% intensity.
After I finished the first set, I felt like my lungs were going to explode. After a couple of minutes, my breathing returned to semi-normal.
Then I did another set. At this point, I KNEW that my lungs were going to explode. While trying to catch my breath, I stumbled back into the house and collapsed into the recliner. I must have sat there for at least ten minutes before I was able to breathe normally again.
I finally got up and washed down some light carbs with some orange juice, before crashing for the night.
Amazingly, I don't feel quite as fat today as I did yesterday.
Tonight is ME upper and I'm pumped already.
