Yes, it is official...my overhead press sucks again!!!!

I'd like to say that I'm not sure what has went wrong...but I know. I quit hitting the triceps with volume, tate presses, and rolling dbell tric exts on a 2x a week basis. I also slacked off from board presses for a bit as well as speed bench.

I tried some new things and either they didn't work or I was yet to find my groove in that routine...

Started my overhead workout on Monday...and it just flat out sucked!!! I got a little upset and started hitting the triceps and dbell cleans hard...and boy are they sore!!! That means something...they are NOT conditioned like they should be!!!

Problem found...now all I have to do is solve it with gettin my butt back in gear and increasing my ohp!!!

well.........lol........ you answered your own question. im sorry to hear that your ohp is down, but you should be back on track soon.

Well, at least you know what the problem is and will be able to fix it. Small consolation, I know. You'll be back to where you were in no time.

B fold,it will get back up there fast.Keep hitting it hard.You made the 300lb log clean and press look like nothing the last time I came down!!I think overheads go down for alot of people,the moment they back off of them,and the assistace work,even a little,so Im sure youll get it back up in no time..maybe even get some new pr's!
 
ofwolfandman, i read that. i am going to stl to see the pros and train at eagle. may do a band demonstration in donwtime at the tourney:) maybe for some of the harrah's waitresses:)
 
Overhead presses weren't great last night...but I am getting back. My overhead will be increasing over the next few months.

Whew...my triceps and rear delts are SORE today...lol.

yea me too...but we know when b says they werent great....that means that it was still extremely heavy, just not to his standards;)

I did some regular bar overheads, standing. Didn't go heavy or anything. I did set a PR on inclines though...

My triceps were not recovered from Saturday...time to up the volume on those suckers...and my hamstrings.

so true. Clint if you pr'd on incline you think maybe leg drive is hindering your ohp or do you do it strict and use mostly delts or use mostly tris
 
thats cool what was your pr on inclines? yea you killed overheads on saturday tho. i didnt work mine as hard bc i had just maxed 2 days prior but i was happy w/ the 240 farmers.

I use lots of leg drive actually. It was suggested to me that I shouldn't DROP so much to catch the bar because it is causing the bar to 'bounce' so much as it locks out. I dunno...lol...I just need to get stronger.

Read the entire thread above..it explains how I got away from doing what works for me instead of what is the most fun...

Ohh...after overheads I did 135, 225, 275, 315 all for 3 then 365 x 1.

did you just say 365 x 1 on ohp, or incline bench press???
