Feel sorry for me?

Soo I phone home from the supermarket the other day to see if anyone at home wants any food, and they tell me no we don't want any food, and by the way our house caught fire today. The fire started and finished in my room, burning a lot of my stuff and covering everything in smoke. I have about two outfits and the rest of my clothes are sat in black bags waiting to be taken away on Monday when some people come to gut my room.

And I'm sat here trawling the internet for quotes of how much my stuff cost so the insurance company can't run wild with ripping me off, which is fun. I think I just want sympathy!

Oh and anyone got any ideas how to get smoke smells out of things like jewellery? I'm going to try putting them in sealed bags with some charcoal to try and absorb the smell, but I haven't any other ideas after this. Any removing smelly smells experts here?

I'm sorry this happened. I don't know anything about removing burnt smell, but I'm sure you could google it.

I wish you the best.

Unfortunately my camera was in my room, otherwise of course I would.

Stop lyin'................ ;)

Just kidding girlie................as far as burnt smell goes you ought to demolish the walls and put 'em up again, its not as hard or as much work as it sounds......

You need some sheetrock, plaster & compound alongside of some pre-mixed cement, some 2x4's screws, nails and tools.....................

Sorry to hear about that.

Is this your house? Do you have insurance that covers fires?

If the answer is yes to both of them, the insurance company shoudl be contacting you ask them if they have a contractor's list of the contractors they use for these instances.

Most of your clothing and linens if they are salvagable will go to the dry cleaners. Also, some dry cleaners have ozone chambers they can put items in to remove the smoke smell.

Getting the smell out of the house will be a challenge even for the most qualified cleaning service. I don't know how much of the house got actually burned but all of that will have to be repaired before anything else can be done.

Fire and smoke damage is one of the most challenging things for anyone in that field to bring a house back to "normal" and rid the smell in the house.

Use a search engine and find out the proper steps in rehabing a house after a fire. Know what the facts and the myths are and keep in communication with your insurance agent and if you are not happy about the way things are going...complain and complain loud.

Insurance companies want to get you satisfied and that is what you want. Don't try and get extra things done in the claim because they will want you to pick up some of the costs if they feel it is not necessary.

You want your house back the way it was and you should stress that to your agent.

Good luck with it but be prepared to see it through. It is a very long process.

Says the guy that makes a thread about the weight of Tom Cruise's new born baby, Brad Pitt's love life and also has to resort to chatting up women on the intenet. Grow a personality?...are you actually being serious?

Some people from the insurance company are going to come and gut the room on Monday, then they're handling all the rebuilding. All I have to do is choose the paintwork and carpet colour.

They said they're going to take all the walls out (it's in the attic so they're all artificial walls anyway) and replace them, then seal the whole room with some special paint stuff that will stop the smoke getting back through from the roofspace.

And I never lie :)

argue my points in a logical manner if you want to. but your question is useless.

Answer 'your points' in a logical manner? Now i know you're taking the piss...no need to answer the question.

If you're still around on EF, you'll read your posts back in three years (once puberty has finished) and think to yourself 'wow I came off looking bad in that...the least i could have said is sorry to hear about the fire'...One can only hope anyway.

Who is this retard? Looks like you have'nt had anything decent and adult to say since you joined. Its there in blueprint, in your post history. (aprt from licking ass). And wrong move with the red twinkle toes.

What you think of my post history is a matter of opinion. Your opinion (surprisingly) is not once i particularly value. Honestly if you hadn't attempted to e-chat up my gf with the line of 'EF is a great place isn't it' then your celebrity related posts would have led me to believe you were gay...just something for you to ponder.

"Wrong move with the red twinkle toes"....jeeez grow the fuck up.
