"Feel" smaller on DC

I started DC training 3 weeks ago and I'm gaining a lot of strength. My weight on the scales is going up too but I just don't feel as big as I was! was doing BFT training before and walked around with a constant pump all day and felt big. Right now I know I have gained weight but I just don't feel it if that makes any sense and when I look the mirror it's just a head fuck trying to decide whether I look better or not.

Anyone else get this?

I kind of get what you are saying. Although I feel that I get a good pump during and directly after my working set, it isn’t as intense and doesn’t last in the same way that it would with other forms of training.

I’m at the end of week four and have to say that results have surpassed expectations. Increased strength and body weight mean that things are progressing well, and the thing to remember is that pump is not an indication of this.

BTW, for anyone with a problem with stretch marks, this reduced pump is a welcome relief!

I know the pump isn't an indication of gains but it sure feels good. I like walking around feeling big and rock solid. I will continue with DC training though.

Good call. And keep adding the weight to the bar and it won’t be long until you are bigger cold than you where with a pump anyway!

This is great stuff to hear man.

I'm cutting now, but later on in the summer I'll start bulking and I plan on using DC training. I'm really looking forward to it, especially after hearing good things from individual experiences.

-Best to ya!

To quote the lead singer of Green Day:

"Sometimes my mind plays tricks on me."

It is very hard to evaluate how you look when looking at yourself. Bodybuilders hyperanalyze and look at themselves under microscopes... and after a while that starts to work against them. You see one thing - and the rest of the world sees another.

Here's a question.......

How are the stretches affecting your muscle shape/ flexibility/ size ? They sound really great.

perhaps less muscle inflammation and quicker healing due to the decreased volume of training would explain feeling "smaller"?

Meanwhile, you are growing more actual muscle due to the increased frequency of training...

makes sense to me.

Thats weird, everytime I finish a DC routine my muscles feel like they are going to rip my sweatshirt and sweatpants.

lol, I know what you mean. I went out in the week wearing what used to be a "fitted" shirt, and when I went to the gents, I turned towards the mirror, and saw a huge rip all the way up the arm where I had busted out of it!!! I had to walk around all night with my shirt hanging off...

Now thats what I call growth, and after only 4 weeks!
