Favorite Handgun

I would say any of the Glocks.

Most reliable gun I've ever shot. I also prefer the action of the Glocks.

I have a Glock 27-.40 caliber, Glock 36-.45 caliber. and Glock .357.

All are great guns and can literally take a beating. Kind of pricey though, but worth the money in my opinion.

The one I use when I'm working. Easy to conceal, very reliable.

smith-wesson 3913tsw

At home I have a Glock 32 .357 sig. Probably among the best caliber for a handgun.

How many people have you killed in your life time tough guy? I've killed 21 and counting. Don't even talk to me about hand guns. That's the pussy's way out of killing someone. I prefer good, old fashioned blunt objects.

BTW it all depends on your State. You're in Florida right ? You can carry concealed weapon ? If yes then go for something compact or sub-compact.

I would go for either .357 sig or .40 S&W. Superior to 9mm and the recoil isn't that bad. I would also add the SIgg P-299 to my list. SPringfield also makes a nice compact gun in both caliber I mentionned.

I shoot a Colt 1911.

I conceal carry a glock 26.

Glocks are trendy and with trends also come the price.

I would highly suggest going to a gun range and renting guns before buying.

Some people find that the thicker grip of a glock makes them pull right or left. Some people find that the slender grip of a 1911 makes it harder to handle.

You can get a cheaper 1911-style gun like a Kimber for nearly half the cost. Really cheap, get a CZ.

Or you can get a custom Colt 1911 and pay 2200 bones.

ah my God, .45 ACP. Not my favourite at all. Good stopping power (since its .45 the tunnel effect is the greatest) but also big recoil. I would rather pay the same price for a Desert Eagle .44 magnum.

Guess it depends on what you want it for. I think for autos it is hard to beat a Sig, or HK, Glock are good, but they do not fit my hands very well. As far as firepower goes, you cannot beat the Raging Bull .454 Casull by Taurus. That is THE handgun.

Nathan I prefer not to kill my enemies just criple them severly, so they can't get laid and shit themselves daily.

I was looking at a Beretta 92 type M, but with all the support for the Glock I will look more closely. I also found some of the newer CZ models pretty nice. The main purpose for the purchase is the the sport, and also home protection.

Hmmmm, well, I like the Glocks also, I have my OLD Glock 17 9mm, as well as a .40 cal, and a .45 cal. However, there are MANY very good guns out there... I have a para-ordnance .45 that I love also, it's a great weapon. I also have a nickel-plated Desert Eagle which I don't fire much. I think one of my favorites though is the H&K USP-45. that's a GREAT gun, all of the special forces people are starting to use now... great gun...

What are you using it for? If it's strictly for home protection, go with a nice short barrel 12ga shotgun, no fucking around, one of the best home protection weapons you'll find...

If you have a 44 you can talk like Dirty Harry

"I know what you're thinking. Did he fire six shots or only five? Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I've kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a 44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clear off, you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya punk?"

... that's an argument !

:11shot:

I just use a pop gun I got at Dollywood. It startles them just enough for me to use my catlike ninja reflexes and move in for sodomization. Of myself of course.

CZ's suck horribly.
They are the most unreliable gun available.

The price is nice, but the overall heartache isn't worth it.
If price is a motivator look at Kimber or Taurus guns.

Taurus is not a cheap gun. They used to be inexpensive, but they have really come a long way since they first started out with the old Smith& Wesson machinery.

As far as power goes, it is a toss up between the .480 Remington, .454 Casull, or the .475 Linebaugh. 44 mag is no longer king.

Do you want to leave holes or blow shit away? If you want to blow shit away, you want to spend good money, and you want to hold a 5 pound gun than desert eagle AE.50 is the gun you want.

I would go with the sig sauer 40 cal. If you have your heart set on a beretta look at the taurus 92. these are made in the old berretta factory in brazil. beretta had to move there operation to the USA when they got the military contracts. The beretta is very easy to disable in close quarters combat, go with a Sig.

CZ's Suck??? BS

I have a newer CZ100 9mm Polymer frame DA and it feels as nice as any Glock Ive used. Plus it has a metal clip and doesnt have the heat warping problems the Glocks do. I also have a STAR FIRESTARE MI30 that has a 15 round clip and Ive put thousands of rounds thru wo a jam(Unless you use the fuck shit Enforcer or any other reload round). A really good buy is the Russian Baikal
Makarov police/military issue 9/18 . Reliabale as hell gun and accurate! I was hitting the black on a full clip at the full length of the target range. Great for people with small hands that need a good 9 with a controlable frame.

Ask any serious gunsmith their opinion of CZ's.

I can refer to one of the best in the US if you wish :)

12 gauge single shot shotgun, sawed off. LOL. You can get em used for like $80. Thats a cheap home defense weapon. Just dont miss (not easy if you have eyesight and appropriate shells).

Seriously though, if you want to invest in a handgun, Glocks are great but pricey, Smith & Wesson, Berettas, etc. are all good also. You can get a gun guide at any magazine store or Barnes & Noble for like $5. It'll have descriptions, a picture of each gun, and a pricing guide.

well

i carry a sig p-229 9mm its a great size for consealed carry and is fairly light great recoil and very accurate. but the best gun that is my personaly favorite is the beretta elite II 92 series in 9mm thatis a great all around gun excellent to fire. im not a big fan of the glocks theyre too fake feeling and the recoil is alot on them.

minitor2

My fav is the good old fashioned Browning highpower 9mm.

Oldie but a goodie

What do you guys know about Ruger, after coming back from the gun shop the one I personally like the best was the KP90 semi-auto in the .45 cal. from Ruger.

not a bad gun. I mean if you like the .45 ACP caliber (which I dont) then yes, the Ruger 90 is a good deal. Cheap, reliable reasonable barrel lenght so its still an option for concealment.

That screams common sense.

On CZ's

No gun line has a 100% Smiths stamp of approval. Not even Colts. Granted CZ spits out a lot of guns and the quality assurance of former Eastern block countrys is questionable, sometimes they come up with a model that stands well. I like my CZ100. No problems to date. Longevity though is a personal deal. It depends on how many rounds personaly an individual has run through a gun to give an honest statement of its experienced
quality and reliability.

You want something that goes "bang" when you press the trigger, get yourself a glock. Utterly reliable pistols. As for the CZ, ask any true gun enthusiast what they think of the 75 series and you will only hear positive things.

Have any dreams lately about missing your penis? Hahahahaha. That was the funniest damn thing I have ever read.

you need something that you can carry year-round
with minimal discomfort...

i own a glock19c...

this is not a good civilian weapon IMHO...

a glock needs a level two holster at least to
be safely carried in ready to go mode...

a good weapon, just needs a really good holster...

i have an AMT backup .45...

compact...powerful...

heavy as a fuckin anvil...hard to wear in the summer...

i'm gonna catch some shit, but, i look at it in terms of
what you can carry comfortably so that you will carry
it and it will not be obvious...

my current carry is one of the baby berettas...

the poptop in 22 LR...

ten rounds, easy to carry, light, and ultra reliable...

can be carried in any pocket, charged and ready to go
safely due to its double action mechanism...

.22LR is the choice of assassins world wide...:D

Thanks to all the bros who posted about their firearms, really good info. Yeah I think I'm holding off on a glock cause I don't want to shoot myself in the leg lol. I also don't want a gun with too many safetys or other mechanisms to operate other than the trigger, to me the less I have to remember to do the better.

The Architect said:
Manny what is it that you don't like about the .45?

Well I dont like it is a big word. I'm more like Cornholio. I prefer .40 or .357 sig for pistols. If all you want to do is make a big hole at close range then go for the .45 or even better the .50 AE. But it has a greater recoil than those I mentionned and the accuracy is not that great. That's what I was told and also what I saw when I tried a Colt 1911 recently. Not to mention a .40, 357 sig, 357 magnum will punch a lot better on a body armor.

DESERT EAGLE .50...Anything good enough for Bullet Tooth Tony is good enough for me:)

Not to mention it basically makes a pizza sized hole out of it's target.

I get a fatigued shoulder when playing the arcade gun games. I could not imagine shooting a 5lb gun for more than a few minutes. My arm would fall off.

I did not know that the GRC were issued girl guns..hehe

Seriously, the MUC are baddass with their revolvers.

lol the 3913 is issued to plain clothes officer while those in uniform have the 5906, just 1/2 " longer. The gun is so small you could easily hide in your jacket's pockets and I wouldn't notice anything.

SPCUM and their revolvers ? Lol these guys are retarded. In every aspect of the word. They're now switching to the Walther P99, a pistol. Finally. Did you know that the MUC officer who died on duty in february shot 6 rounds and missed all of them, while the punk placed his 5 shots in a 72 circle ? Makes me wonder what kind of training they had....

then you would enjoy the RCMp handgun test. They make you empty 5 clips with each hands (basically 50 rounds) non-stop. Believe me you better get some morphine or anything similar...

I especially enjoyed the pepperspray test. Getting sprayed in the face, then making it back to the squad car to call in the incident before running around the building and finally collapsing.

Favorite? For what purpose? Home protection backup? CCW? Range time? The answer is dependant upon intended use, experience, individual characteristics (physical & mental), etc. Anything that puts lead where it's intended to go is a "favorite" of mine. I prefer a 1911 loaded-up with COR*BON 45 ACP +P 165GR JHP's but I have other options at my disposal. To each his own.

Bottom-line: Your favorite should be "what you can shoot with confidence and accuracy." The only way to determine that is with range time.

Later,

Those answers are in the post. I'm looking to hear peoples positive or negative experiences with their firearm. I have limited experience shooting at the range, and would like to feel confident in making the right purchase. This gun will see range time, and of course it will be for protection as well.

I don't read half the shit I see in "gun posts" here, but I did answer your question. I'll be more specific, my current favorite is a Kimber 1911 loaded-up with COR*BON 45 ACP +P 165GR JHP's. Good luck with the purchase.

Here's some AF History with my opinions injected if it's worth anything. Obviously there is good input from others more knowledgeable than I in these threads as well. Worth the read for you probably.

Later,

Thanks for the info 1911. As mentioned in the other threads renting sounds like the best thing to do at this point, I would hate to buy something that I wasn't satisfied with in the end.
