What are your favorite exercises to superset? I only do supersets and giant sets throughout my workouts now.
For chest I really like flat bench with dips. For back I like pullups with seated rows. Also t-bar rows with deadlifts.
I haven't done supersets in well over a year, but these were some of my favorites:
1--Barbell curl SS w/ pulldowns (or half-chins) to the top/back of my head.
With no rest between the two, each taken to failure or beyond, the pump could be so insane it truly got skin-splitting painful. I tried a few times to do a second set of this, and the pain was so bad I was ready to bail after the first rep or two of half-pulldowns.
2--Stiff-arm pulldowns SS w/ "lat shrugs"* SS w/ regular pulldowns. (*A lat shrug starts out as a standard pulldown, but you keep the arms relatively straight as you pull...think of it as a reverse shrug, because you stop pulling when your arms start to bend at the elbows. Obviously, you can use a ton of weight this way, but it's hard to get the hang of.)
Again, ungodly pump. Lats are easily my weakest bodypart, but I felt like Dorian Yates for awhile after doing a triset of these
3--Leg extensions SS w/ leg press. Same deal...if each were done with high reps plus several forced at the end, my thighs might burn for 30 minutes afterwards.
From a strength gain standpoint, that sort of pre-exhaustion stuff had a very limited use for me.
If you wanted to pump up for a picture or just wanted to have fun in the gym, though, doing any of those three HARD should yield a pump like you wouldn't believe.
