Okay, I'm a lawyer, and I have actually researched this very issue about what is the best thing for men to wear for court appearances. Whether it is a judge or a jury makes a little bit of difference, but not much.
Before a trial, I always told male clients to wear a black or gray suit, a blue or white shirt and a blue tie. Blue has proven to be the best color by far in front of juries, and people get paid big bucks as jury consultants to figure this stuff out, believe it or not. The tie needs to be conservative. NO JEWELRY other than a wedding ring if you are married and a watch. If it is a rolex, leave it at home! Think conservative, like what a judge or lawyer would wear. Don't wear french cuff shirts that require cuff links. Wear black shoes and socks that are clean and polished.
HTH!
Awsome post Heather, thank you. I knew there had to have been studies on this somewhere....Blue it is!
