fascism in the 1920's & 1930's

Exactly why was there a worldwide fascist revolution in the 1920's & 1930's? Offhand (i am sure there are more examples, probably shitloads of no name 3rd world countries)

in 1933 fascist Nazis take over Germany
in 1922 fascists take over Italy
in the 1920's the KKK (a fascist organization) comes to great power in america, i forget the exact stats, but almost 1 in 4 white men was in the KKK, and the KKK controlled the government of a few states
in 1936 Franco comes to power in spain


What gives? was it a response to bolshivism (sp), or was it a response to WW1, or what. Seeing how the word 'fascist' means 'to unite' in italy, i assume some sort of enemy was threatening people and they were uniting against it. But what enemy? bolshevism, ww1, multiculturalism, or what.

Fascism has nothing to do with racism..

It is a ultra national authoritarian ideology, and it was quite normal to see a rise during the 30's with the Great Depression.

Why ? Cause of the economical depression in 20's. People were pissed off at their goverment. Unemployment was raising. SO came guys like Hitler, Mussolini.... they all had the explanation for their problems. Among them jews. Franco is a different story since he took control of Spain after a 3 years civil war.

the church itself, played a major role in the nazi's rise to power. as a result of world war 1 the german kaiser abdicated and the weimer republic was formed, which made the trinitarian churches in that area fear they would lose its people to the bolshevists and republicans. so the church supported the nazi's because it was against the country swinging to the far left.

during crises the desperate population looks to government for a solution, and is ready to give it opportunities to seize power in return for security. The first world war and the great depression left millions destitute and starving and willing to follow anyone who promised a better life - a perfect place for potential dictators to step in.
