Farmers' Walks. Hmmm.

from zero

New member
Thinking of adding them as an accessory to my DC training. Think I could add them after deads, rows, or goodmornings (my 3 big back movements I use), for some (extra) trap work?

Also might give the one-armed farmers a try tonight. See how my abs feel after them.

I figure my grip could always use some work as well.

i would....famers are great for your traps...i feel they actually work your legs and lower back also. i think thats what finally put some lil knots under my tiny traps;) i love heavy farmers...doin some tonight.

one arm farmers kill my traps, grip, low back, abs but maily obliques and quads.......... its a good feeling.

Farmers certainly couldn't hurt. And yes...whatever you can do for your grip is definately good. I don't think you can have a strong enough grip.

there is no one in history to ever say, MAN!!!! MY GRIP IS JUST TOO STRONG!!!

i need to slack off the deadlift holds...........lol

a couple of the guys at Naz do the farmers walk ( we have 2 200# tanks) and they swear that it is the hot ticket for stability when squatting.

Interesting. I like that though. My squat can always use much improvement.

Well, I did the one-armed farmers tonight. Very interesting. I used a 50lb dumbbell (no idea of my capabilities yet), and walked a straight path of about 25 feet up and back, 5 times for each hand. Two sets.

Friday, I think I may incorporate the conventional farmers after my barbell rows and chins. Should be interesting.

*note: A dude I talk to normally was like, "Dude, what are you doing?" "Farmer's walks." "Looks like a bunch of crap to me." "They're a strongman event dude!" "Yeah, but they use 200 lb cylinders ..." :lmao:
