Family History of Diabetes II and Gear

Just curious. My Dr. said that im at a 60% risk of developing Diabetes II if i were to used Steroids, than maybe another family member of mine that doesn't. Does this sound right? Any MD's in here? I've done a few cycles before, but i usually feel good and crappy at the same time. :mix:

I don't know of the %'s, but using anabolic steroids [among other things it does to your body] compromises the immune system, decreases glucose tolerance, and increases insulin resistance...thus will mimic DM II or cause "drug induced Diabetes II", which will subside upon stopping the 'roids. If you have DM in your family, then your risk is much, much higher, and you wouldn't be wise to go that way. You should then be eval'd regularly by your doc.
My advice to you is to not do them, regardless.

Good luck, and hope I helped.

Sound advice there.

This is very intresting-If I were U manhandler I wouldnt want to take the chance of ending up with Diabetes if I didnt have to...

Just thought Id share:

Ive got Diabetes Type 1 and I took my first cycle of Deca late last year. I did plenty of research on trying to get answers on whether my Diabetes would be affected by it or not. From what I read online it seemed to hint that my blood sugars may drop due to the gear and during the first week or two of the cycle I checked my levels hourly and it in fact did.

This ofcourse was not a problem since I wanted to eat as much as possible anyways. I have yet to notice or experience any problems with my Diabetes since the cycle and will be starting my 2nd one by Sept.

It was a relief for me since my common problem with other supplements since I started working out had been high blood sugars which would force me to not eat....
