Facts for RyanH and anti-gunners

Saint7 said:
 Who ever thinks we should not own firearms is in my opinion an igneranus. Do your research, Hitler took guns away from the people. ;) I wonder what would have hapened if the Jews would have had guns to defend themselves. Soory but if you want my weapon you will have to pry it from my cold dead fingers.:fro:

first of all, whats an "igneranus". also, do you really think you can fight off the united states military with your handgun? there are better arguments than what you just came up with.

Another for RyanH:

Number of physicians in the US: 700,000.

Accidental deaths caused by physicians per
year:120,000.

Accidental deaths per physician... 0.171
(U.S. Dept. of Health & Human Services)

Number of gun owners in the US: 80,000,000.

Number of accidental gun deaths per year (all age
groups) 1,500.

Accidental deaths per gun...0.0000188

Statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous
than gun owners.

"FACT: Not everyone has a gun, but everyone has at least one
Doctor."

Please alert your friends to this alarming threat.
We must ban doctors before this gets out of hand.

Ban Doctors,not Guns??

i hate when they pull out those stupid statistics like doctors are more dangerous. sure they are fun but they really mean nothing. most guns are sitting in some rednecks closet doing nothing. doctors are dealing with extremely sick people all the time. of course there are gonna be more accidental deaths by doctors.

<sound of danielson falling over in complete astonishment>

yes....thats very true.

i also remeber that movie red dawn where russian pratroopers enter america, nd this dudes got a truck with a 'if u want my gun u can opry it from my dead cold fingers' and u see some rusky mofo armed to the teeth prying it from his fingers

while violent crime was always gonna rise over here, the removal of weapons from legal carriers/holders has made little-no impact....so its unlikely to over there i would have thought

Salami, please support this assertion. Since you obvioulsy have access to these statistics, please compare the number of college-educated suburban licensed gun owners to "redneck" licensed gun owners.
(P.S. - also define redneck, so that we can all be sure to understand the groups your statistics are comparing.

Gin'nJuice has a real good statement.

I have been malpracticed about 4 times in my life. The Dr.'s always back each other.

I don't trust Dr.'s very much and they are such bastards,
both sexes on this point. They really care about there
stock portfolio's. They will script you which is pretty much all they can do. I consider Dr.'s to be pushers as they get stock options for writing scripts to the company that makes the drug. Sounds very disturbing to me.

I know that this happens.

Accidents: Few and Getting Fewer
(excerpted from http://home.speedsoft.com/theashes/koppel.html)

How many children die in senseless gun accidents? One of America's leading gun control advocates, a physician, puts the figure at "almost 1,000 children" per year. The National Safety Council, however, reports a considerably lower figure. In 1988, 277 children under the age of 15 were killed by accidental firearms discharges. In 1990, according to the National Center for Health Statistics, the number fell to 236.

Most of the children who are involved in fatal accidents are older children. In 1990, the most recent year for which data are available, 34 children under the age of 5 died in gun accidents. Among children aged 5-9, there were 56 fatal gun accidents; and among children aged 10-14, 146 fatal accidents.

In recent decades, the American firearms supply has risen, and now stands about 200 million guns, a third of them handguns. But as the number of guns has risen, the number of childhood gun accidents has fallen sharply, declining by nearly 50% in the last two decades.

Notably, the overall fatal gun accident rate for the American population has been declining faster than the rate of most other types of accidents, such as car accidents or work accidents. From 1968 to 1988, the rate of fatal gun accidents fell from 1.2 per 100,000 population per year to 0.6 - a decline of 50%. In the same period, the motor vehicle fatal accident rate fell from 27.5 in 1968 to 20.1 in 1988 - a 27% decline. Work deaths declined 47%.

Hey Samami Sausage Who said it was a hand gun. Besides was in the marine corps infantry, one shot one kill. The marine corps has a funny way of teaching you how not to be very nice. I do my best but cant get away from the brain washing they did i.e. weapons training over and over again till you got it right.
