f.squatting with your elbows out...

...changes the movement entirely.
hits the quads a lot harder...it's taken me a while
to get used to the forum, and wrist wraps help, but i dig it.
i don't have a rack so this so this is what i rely on.
overall i think f/squatting is a better workout than back squatting, plus i don't have to use as much weight and can
dump it easier.
any commentary?
 
do you have do to very high rep squats because you can only use your clean 1rm? If so, the zercher squat was made by a guy who squatted with no rack, he deadlifted the bar up, rested it on his knees for a second, hooked his arms under it and then began squatting. Obviously with very heavy poundages this might cause some knee probleme though...

i'm thinking eventually this will be a problem,
but i've been training on and off for a while due to work
and am just getting back full time...so the lb'ages aren't that big yet and i can clean the weight up easily now.
two plates on each side and i'll proly have a problem but that won't be for a few months
 
I used to squat like this a while back and then just gradually didnt anymore. Never really noticed i was doing it unless other people commented and id just tell them whatever its how i squat.
