I NEVER locked a thread like that. NEVER. I dare anyone to find proof of such a claim.

95% of the threads I locked were for shits and giggles (i.e. locking every frisky and klubacca thread) that most people found funny. The rest were just to be a dick. :evil:

but yeah, I know how it is on the other side and I know what admin wants in a mod (hence, me no more moddy).

but I'm not saying pinto is a bad mod---at all. he's a pretty good one. he just needs to stay away from threads where he ends up pushing his own morals/thoughts/beliefs onto other people. it's not what mods are for.

as my grandaddy always used to say - "The best mods are like the best baseball umpires - when they do their job correctly, they are neither seen nor heard".
 
For the record I disagreed, albeit apatheticaly, with your conclusion.

One thread and you might have a point. He had posted near half a dozen with all the same "let me just piss off Christians" motif.

I found in life that idiots are generally attracted to religious debates because it requires no study or actual intelligence to repeatedly parrot "religion is a myth and you can't prove the existence of God" 300 times to feel they're bright people too.
 
bump - mods are supposed to PM members BEFORE locking or deleting their threads.

This isn't about religion - if it was, I would own everyone. I have been through the Catholic system more than most here and KNOW FOR A FACT that it is filled with lying, evil, piece if shit weak people. I hope the nuns that I grew up with die terrible deaths for what they put those poor kids through. So, I guess this should be locked too,

It's not about religion, it's about censorship.

Well, let's see, in 2nd grade, Father X tried to recruit me into his afternoon oiled up alter boy parties. Luckily for my psyche', I had a problem with authority figures even at that age and passed.

In 4th & 5th Brother Y took great pleasure in paddling me in front of the class at the slightest provocation. I'm pretty sure I remember having to kneel on rice once, but that may be from tortured dreams at the time.

In 6th tru 8th, Sister Z tormented me and intentionally mangled my last name into a sing-song taunt on a regular basis. Mostly because my cousin who preceeded me tru the system was a major pain in the ass.

I left out dozens of little tidbits that are great for a kiddie to have to go tru. And pay tuition for the priviledge. Good times.

I'm a big fan of that whole Catholic Organization thing.

You're delusional because you project your experience onto an organization which numbers close to 100 million in this country alone. I offered my example not to provide a standard, but to demonstrate that your experience is far from the universal standard you attempt to portray.

You had a few losuy nuns (according to you) and Im sorry for you if that's the case. But this isn't the first time you've attempted to color the entire church with your anecdotal experience.

You imagine ther eis no one who attended secular public schools who never had a bad experience with a teacher or principal? If you were making the same case against public schools that you make against Catholic ones based on the same evidence you'd be laughed off the thread. But because it involves the Church there will always be a few morons willing to shout Amen to your nonsense.

I'm one of the people who is a believer in God, and I don't think we should lock threads just because they are controversial. Religious freedom and freedom of speech should win out. Plus, if people are intelligent and have good support for their ideas, they will all be able to speak, and people can decide on their own.

I thought lestat's thread was stupid and immature, but I didn't want it locked and moved. We would have to lock 99% of threads here based upon that criteria. LOL.

I wasn't online so I didnt know that the fuss was about - I looke din the bin but there's nothing there...so it wasnt moved there
 
so, what possible other option is there when a thread DISAPPEARS? I was posting in it (as did NT and pick3 and gjohnson) and when I hit "submit", it said it was a private area of EF. there is no trace of it in my subscribed folder either.

You aren't getting what Bran and I are saying........I looked in the bin to see if a reason was given as to why the thread was deleted.

Thread was not there.

That means it was hard deleted by:

1 - Admin
2 - Thread starter
3 - Mod



I would have assumed that it would BE in the bin as that is where I always send a thread in case there is ever a question as to why it was deleted.


I never said that it WASN't deleted - or why - as I do not know.

KB can also look through his posts and see if the thread is listed as something he posted on......

Bullshit. What has been stated over and over is that if a mod has the time and is willing to waste it explaining to some mouth-breather that no, we don't post poo threads or cock shots or mod-bashing threads, that's nice of him or her.

But if they just see it and blow it the fuck away, that's just fine by me.
