Everyone Please Read!!! Strider364

People ask me why i like the fitness boards... well, other than learning lol... I have met some of the most genuine, down to earth, nicest people on these boards..
People who barely know you, yet would give you the shirt off their back if you needed it... it is all based around one thing in common, but there is a bond, understanding and appreciation for one another that is just unreal.

Some of you may recall that last week i was in desperate need of someone in Chicago to help me with a favor.. I am in the process of purchasing a used SLK out of state and needed someone local to pick up the car and bring it to the Mercedes dealer for a diagnostic prior to me sending out my check.. There is a lot of money to lose if the car did not meet the dealer claims.. plus they say never trust a used car salesman lol.. so i really needed the help of a Chi-town local...

Well.. i have never before spoken with strider364.. This MAN pmed me saying "how can i help?"

Let me tell you... STRIDER364, today, left work early, went to the landrover dealership to pick up the car, took it to the Mercedes to get it checked.. called me to keep me updated as to what was happening, sat around and waited for it to be diagnosed and then drove it back to the original dealer... This is all on 1 days notice!!

This example of kindness shown by STRIDER is simply amazing!!! We had never even talked on the boards before.. we were not good friends... But he saw i really needed this favor and he went out of his way to help me!!! If it were not for him, i would not have mailed out my check today and i would not be buying the car of my dreams!!

I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge STRIDER364 because he is one hell of a gentleman and he truly defines the word kindness...

ALSO.. his BIRTHDAY is this Friday the 23rd... HAPPY PRE-BIRTHDAY AND I HOPE YOU LIKE THE BIRTHDAY PRESENT I'M SENDING YA!!! also as a thank you for helping me out when i needed it the most!!

strider is my sugar bear thats for sure...he is a total sweetie! you may want to check over at chemical muscle too, he is a charter member over there and may be on...

That's nothing...Wodin asked that I ship him a sheep and a box of condoms. Never questioned his reason....I just did it.


(PS....your a swell guy for doing that...i hope you at least get some nudies out of it)
 
To be honest, when I read the title of your thread, I thought something bad had happened.

strider did a nice thing...not to be a bitch but-- did you check that buying an out-of-state car meets the emission requirements in your state???

its very expensive & takes forever to convert an out-of-state or European import to CA standards.. .hope yours is ok :)

yes honey.. the Mercedes is cool :) except i am going to get slammed with taxes when it gets here in NJ..


so what if strider only helped cause i am a chick.. that is what is called CHIVALRY (sp).. but from all the responses on this thread and from what i know of him.. i have no doubt in my mind that if any other person.. man or woman, he would of helped out in the same way... He is just so genuine and kind..

Regardless.. it is too often that people are slammed and denegrated on this board... i felt it was time to give some praise and luv instead.. and in this scenario.. it was well deserved!!

i asked a moderator to fix it, but obviously they were unable to...

That is a very nice thing to do, and I'm glad it worked out. The SLK is a sweet ride. :)

To be honest though, of all the people I've "met" on Elite (and I've been friends with maybe a dozen members) only a handful arn't total psychos. Sad but true.
