ever been caught cheating?

yeah. im not allowed to be banker anymore, and i have to keep my money in front of everyone, in plain sight

I havent been caught but Ive cheated then just confessed about it afterwards. Yes, we got back together and have never been happier. No, this will not happen with all couples.
It takes a certain kind of woman to forgive a man of this sort of thing. It also takes a certain kind of man to have genuine remorse and try to make things right instead of walking, all the while knowing full well that he could face her revenge, but taking that risk because the woman is worth it.
Or you could just not cheat at all. thats probably a lot simpler.

hmm well my situation is a little odd. i DIDNT have sex with this other girl.......she is a longtime friend and confidant and i was on a trip to FL to hang out with some buddies and while i was there i hung out with her, and ended up sleeping with her, but not having sex. the texts my gf found said something about "i miss waking up next to you" and "goodnight babe." nothing sexual, and i explained all this to my gf, and she genuinely acted like she believed me. but i dunno it still feels really weird. if i was her i wouldnt believe me. but weve been together for a year and she KNOWS that i am a trustworthy person, i have never once in a year been less than 100% reliable and honest with her, which she KNOWS.

Yes. Always came up with some ridiculous logic that fooled them. Every single time. Shit, there were even witnesses, but I still got out of it. That is a testament to the chicks I was with, not my bullshitting abilities. That was back in the day though - no time for cheating now.

Most woman can, and do handle cheating spouses well, and move on. Usually blaming themselves in the end. Billions of men over time have cheated, and billions of women have stuck by them.
Very few men can. Most men flip out, and even become violent if they caught their gfs/spouses cheating. Most men can't handle the self-esteem disaster of finding out their loved one is fucking someone else. The first reaction is anger, and their second reaction is to take it out on someone either verbaly or physically.

The reason men cheat -- is because modern western society is the one that has INVENTED this concept of one man for every one woman.
Women, tired of having babies and their fathers running off -- invented this concept of "marraige", in order to force the man to stick with her, otherwise face massive economic penalties.
Marraige/Monogamy is not "instinctual" or "genetic" -- only forced via modern idealogies. Even when i was with my fiancee -- i still wanted to bone every hot chick i saw.

Marriage is not a concept invented in modern Western society. Even in ancient times - a man did not run off and leave a woman and his family if he cheated. While cheating may have been more accepted then (for the male), the man still held responsibility for his legal family and would have faced social and legal penalties for deserting them. And generally, the type of woman a man cheated with during pre-modern times is not the type of woman (socially) that he would have considered marrying.
