You guys should check out "Inherite the Wind". It's an old black and white movie about the Monkey Trials. A particularly interesting part was when he said that before God made the sun, there was no time since there was no sun to base it on. Therefor God could have taken billions of years to create earth, who is to know? There was no time so a week could be an infinite amount of time.
This is why I like the new theory coming out that says that we did in fact evolve, but there was some unknown force guiding us. Cuase and Effect has already been proven fact, Spontaneous Evolution has not been proven. Each time a species evolves, it evolves for a reason. There was no reason for humans to evolve, like the old saying goes "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". We were surviving just fine as monkeys, thus there are still monkeys around. I don't see any Dinosuar or 100 foot birds around anymore. Therefor the theory states that an unknown force (God) Caused (or guided) evolution and the Effect (the evolved) was human. Makes sense, doesn't it? Kind of combines both Creationism and Evolution. I read that it may be the new "accepted" theory which they teach in public schools, instead of Evolution. Since as we all know, Evolution has ALOT of holes in it.

I almost never debate with a person on this topic just because everyone has their own beliefs, BUT I chose too this time.
Face it, evolution happened. There is no such thing as ghosts. There is no hell. I do hope that there is a heaven. The sky is blue. The earth is round. End of story, deal with it. You all don't have to freak out about evolution just because it shows that maybe god didn't create man, and that would mean that your precious bible would be obsolete.

If we evolved from monkeys, then why are monkeys still around? Where is the bone evidence? We found skeletons linking every animal to ancient animals, except for humans. Why did we evolve? What was the purpose of developing speech, critical thinking, etc? What was the problem before, why did we need this to SURVIVE?
It just makes sense to me, that if we really did evolve from monkeys, then something had to trigger it. Maybe some Alien culture did genetic tests on monkeys and we were the result, who is to say? All I am saying is that SOMEONE or SOMETHING had to trigger our evolution. Things like this don't evolve for the hell of it. It would be like a fish growing wings on it's head, or a cow growing eyes on it's ass. Sure, they may be useful, but why the hell would they evolve like that, something has to trigger evolution, it doesn't just happen.

That's what I am saying. It just sounded like everyone was ruling out Creationism simply because it has been proven that it took alot longer than one week to create the earth. Who is to say if it is right or wrong? We don't know fuck about it, I am just showing that it IS possible. Maybe it wasn't "boom" theres earth like the bible says. Maybe God evolved it over millions of years, there was no time so who is to say it was today's standard week? It could be an Alien's week which is billions of years. Hell, maybe this so called God was an Alien. Who the fuck is really to say?
The biggest mistake anyone (of you...) can make is denying the fact that BIOLOGICAL evolution has been/is happening, and will happen, until the end of time.
Their is AMPLE scientific research to support this, from observations as simple as some plants having thorns, that didn't used to--to animals that now have thicker fur, or thicker sharper teeth, etc.
This, in no way, "contradicts, disagrees, or disproves" ANYTHING written in the Bible.
I have no fucking clue if God is real--I'm still searching for my own "faith."
But, I do know what you can, and can't argue...

There are certain parts of the bible where they describe the creation of the earth and universe. They talk about adam and eve. Did Christ say this is what happened and that info was put in the bible? Or did one of the actual people who wrote the bible put that information in it? I'm not even talking about my stance on evolution, I'm talking about the actual content of the bible and who wrote that content.
