As far as the Bible goes, it was written by many (and I mean...100s, or more...) PEOPLE! Men, women, etc., not by Jesus, and not by anyone that was even alive anytime near when Jesus was...

That's my only point, I've had classes, but I'm not going to *argue* either side...just thought I'd mention that fact...

I'm not going to argue either, I just want to know how these writers came up with the earth being created in a week thing, and the adam and eve stuff, and all that. How did they know God said "let there be light!"...?

the jump from homo erectus to java man (neanderthal) took 300,000 years.. if we did infact evolve, anyway previous jumps took 2 million years ect and the fossils from those time show that we didnt even produce sound the same way they did. I think it makes more sense that evolution does occur but an outside force, helped forge our evolution, (created in his image). Also evolution is flawed because time isnt linear and the progression has been proved to not be linear in so many cases. Humans would of had such an incredibly slim slim chance of ever coming about if the current theory were true the odds are so low. You can prove just about anything through statistics..

Evolution has always been an established fact based on the fossil record. Darwin's theory was regarding the cause and trigger of evolution -- natural selection. Everyone thinks evolution is the theory, which it is not.

and Gorlim of course it's not linear. There is famime, sickness, earthquakes, volcanos .. any number of causes that will strain reproduction. To have linear time you must have constant birth rate.

And for the Adam and Eve story, it's generally agreed it was an oral tradition not written down until the Babylonian captivity, about 500 BC. The Bible didn't get it's present form until around 300 AD.
