Eq or Test for year-round??

I have been considering using a year round cycle, and have been getting different responses as what I should use.

Some say EQ year round with test cycles in the middle, others say maintenance doses of test, then bump the test doses up higher before meets(PL).

Also, does anyone have any results from using Doggcraps suggestion of a good cycle of test/EQ/tren, then dropping back to only test for a few weeks to let the body recycle. He also suggests HCG and clomid during this point, but I was wondering if clomid and such would help even while on low doses.

Thanks for any input brothers

FYI, Doggcrap only suggests that year-round cycle with cruising periods stuff for national-caliber BB'ers that would stay on year round anyway. He DOES NOT suggest that everyone stay on juice without ever coming off. People keep taking one part of a long post he made years ago and repeat it out of context.

Thanks guys.

Brandonxj-That was a good read, but that guys doses look FAR above what I had in mind. Even his lighter periods look higher than what I planned for a baseline.

Dial Tone-It sounds to me like you are getting up on your high-horse in your response to me. FYI-(1)I realise DC reccomends cruising, and if you read my post a little closer, you would be aware that I have read DC posts many times.(2)Im a competitive PL'r, so the "Natl Level BB'r" part means shit to me. Unless youve ever competed for any amount of time at PL, you wouldnt know about the dings and abuse a PL'rs body takes in the course of training for many meets a year.(3) I NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT A LIFETIME CYCLE.

Maybe Im getting on a high-horse here, but I have MANY friends in PL circles that are using BIG amounts of test year round with no noticeable sides. I have jst never been one to blindly follow the rest of the group, and was trying to gather WELL THOUGHT opinions and suggestions.

Thanks for the input

I was making a general comment on DC. I have no need to read your other posts because I wasn't speaking to you directly. If you took offense to itt then that's on you, not me. I should mention one of my college training partners won Jr Nat's in powerlifting and the other was 8th of 25 guys at Jr. Worlds so I do know a lil bit about powerlifting.

Just sounded like you were singling me out. I was just trying to state as well that Im not some newbie who was trying to follow local-joe-roidheads advice on getting big.

I realise as well that careers are short lived in PL, and I plan to hit it hard while Im able to.

I wouldn't go year round... but... I'm not you and I don't put my body through the severe lifts that you do. I would consult with a doctor on this board about it. If you tell them you are doing it regardless they will probably help you the best they can!
Good Luck!

Since you will get suppression with eq or test, and a fair amount of estrogen formation with eq (as well as test), you can list the pros and cons of year-round test vs eq as follows:

test
Pros: strength, aggressive effort (PL), fair libido (supra-physiologic replacement of test), Great mass gains, hard to test for (make sure test level normal for test)
Cons: hair loss, acne, prostate problems, blood pressure, cholesterol, estrogen formation with bloat and gyno

Eq
Pros: little acne, less bloat, great mass gains, few prostate problems
Cons: easy to find in a test long time, poorer strength, little aggression, anxiety and panic attacks in prone individuals, poor libido at times (suppression without enough physiologic replacement of test), estrogen formation with gyno, vet drug with poorer quality control than human drugs (infection, etc)

In general, the bodybuilder would prefer long eq cycles, and the powerlifter generally prefers test (tolerating hair loss, bloat, blood pressure and cholesterol problems in exchange for strength gains and high libido/aggression useful for comps.

Of course, medically I do not recommend young men to take long cycles of unnecessary hormone replacement therapy (i.e. anabolics). But if you are set in your mind and your will, not to be disuaded, as any healthy young man is :), I recommend test maybe 500ew working up to a gram or two ew as many powerlifters in heavy classes do that I know. It's a hell of a sport, but a great sacrifice. Such is the iron game. Good luck.

Most strength athletes that I know on the bigger levels do something similar to the following. Some may range from the lower range of 125-375 and will also boost to 2,000 when a contest nears.
