Endurance

Hi I am new to this site. I was wondering what the best way to build endurance for running. Right now, I have terrrible cardio, just quit smoking, I can run for a bout 3miles in about 35 min which sucks , I want to get that down to about 25 mintues any ideas.
 
Also, look for some good training programs online. coolrunning.com has one for novice, intermediate and advanced runners.

When I started running I was about 45 min. for a 5k. Nothing is worse than having an elderly lady ask for your finishing time and telling you that she beat you.

I got down to 24 minutes a year later. I did speed training as well as running 3 miles or more.

I recommend finding a 5k and training for it. That will help as well.
