Virus Alert!!! Elite Fitness Email

This is the second day in a row that I have had someone attempt to send emails with attached viruses to my Elite Fitness email account. The first message was signed:

[email protected]

The second that came today was signed:

[email protected]

(I knew this wasn't the real Golpher. The person sending the virus misspelled his handle.)

What is alarming about this is that the person sending the viruses is trying to disguise their email return addresses so that they will look like trusted EF accounts.

The person sending the viruses is also a very sophisticated hack. He is sending "under the wire" viruses (i.e., new ones that would escape most people's virus scans unless they have updated their .dat files recently.)

Virus Update - I was just sent my THIRD straight email with attached viruses.

Each time the pattern is the same... a unique subject line... no message in the body of the email... and three attached files (all virus infected.)

This time, though, there was no attempt at creating an EF email address for the sender.

Good thing I don't have to worry about viruses anymore. I just got this cool program from [email protected] that protects my EliteMail from viruses!!!!!

With version 2.1 of elitefitness.com mail coming this week, we will be able to easily delete email accounts like these. We cannot read the email or access the accounts, but we will be able to delete them.

I was finally able to find out what was happening... after receiving more than a dozen virus letters. Someone on the boards has the Klez virus. Klez searches through your address book and sends viruses to everyone in your address book... and uses other addresses as the return address. This means that someone who wrote to both Golfer and me has the virus.
