Elite mail could be safer

I thought the site was down, but apparently the certificate has been pulled because it cannot be accessed via https. If the site is not secure, then it's possible for your password to be spoofed.

This may be a moot issue if the applet encrypts the password before posting it to the email server, but I'm not sure about this. Just an FYI, as a general rule never enter important passwords on a site that you cannot access via https instead of just http.

Could be better, shit, could be usable. I haven't gotten anything but disabled since I opened it. Don't get responses from Hush or anything. How am I supposed to talk when I can't find anythig safe to talk on? Fuck them all

I'll take that bet sk*. I bet if you do it, I still won't find a source worth a shit here. Sorry, best I can do at the moment. Happy New Year.

so, if EF mail is not really safe,
do you know a true safe free pop3/IMAP4 mail ?

I'm not suggesting that elite mail is unsafe because I need to know more about it. If the password is encrypted before it's posted to the server, then this is a function of the algorithm used to encrypt the password, no matter whether it's a java applet, activex, or whatever.

Without knowing more about elite mail, my suggestion of the absolute safest way you can send email is by first using PGP or Secret Builder to encrypt the body of the email before sending it. On the one hand it will appear to be more of a hassle, on the other, it's the only way to be sure.

very true. in 2-3 days I'll have black ice defender (personal firewall) w/ the crack for it. if you guys need it either pm me or email me.

[email protected]

Like i said, i wont have it for 2-3 more days because I have to get my cable modem hooked back up before I download it off irc.

Thanks Rémy!

Another question: Are you really safe in you install ZoneAlarm ?
If you already have a trojan, will ZoneAlarm prevent anybody to take control of your PC ?

EF mail is not safe at all !!! Hushmail is not any better.

What I find to be the best right now is ZipLip.
Until I find out who's doing it any better i will let you guys know
