Elite, I need your ADVICE

havoc

Shaolin Ninja
I am in a funky situation as of right now.
Without getting into too much detail please advise to the best of your ability.
I was offered a different position with a company I have been with for 2 years now. The position is better in regards to pay and such, however, the company I work for has to be one of the most corrupted, backstabbing, cruel and cold establishments on the face of the earth, they make the Italian Mafia look like ballet dancers, seriously.

Now, on the other hand I have an opportunity to make twice, maybe even 3 times as much with another company, however, making the twice or 3 times amount is not going to be instant, may take 4 months or so to get established like I would want to.

So, I could take the job that my current company is offering where I know that I could be doing more and the company is truly corrupted, along with a raise and in an instant fashion.

Or

I could take this other offer, and for 4 months hustle my ass off having some shitty pay but then after time goes by be banking like Wells Fargo.

Problem is, is that I have little patience, especially when I know I could be doing something productive at a time where nothing is going on, which would be a scenario at this other job.

It basically comes out to this: Its either instant money for doing basically nothing and its decent pay.....or.....its a situation where money will be flowing but I will have a period of "brokeness" if you will for about 4 months.

I know what the answer is, however, I would like your input since I respect your opinions, thanks ELITE. peace

I say go for option #2 if you know for sure that the money will be there...I'm not sure what either position entails, so I don't know if there is any risk.... I am trapped right now in a job that is quite a bit like yours...and if I have the chance to take something else that I will be happy at I'm all for it.

Good luck in whatever you decide to do......

Door #2! Door #2! Door #2!

Plus every company in America is JUST LIKE THAT!

You're young, take advantage of that and follow your heart. You have a solid family who will support you if times become too rough in the four month period. IE: Cash flow

TAKE THE RISK WITH THE NEW COMPANY!! You sound as if the old job(company policy at least) makes you un-happy. Maybe it's time for something new and fresh. Nothing ventured is nothing gained.

What is four months out of your life if it turns into something that will make you happy in the long run?

Go with which ever will afford you the LEAST amount of time on Elite.....

...um.....company 2 sounds like a good pick.

Hey bro you seem to me that you live your life by a certain set of standards and stick by what you believe in.

The trouble that you have with how your present company conducts themselves tells me in the long run you will be happier with company number 2.

Its only 4 months, not a big thing.

Good luck on what you decide.

I'm feeling your advice.

I feel all your advice, good stuff, I feel the same way. Sometimes a little reassurance is a good thing. peace

More importantly....do what makes you happy. There will never be enough money (at least for me). Even if I made $150,000 a year, I'd still go through it like shit through a goose.

Choose the option that will let you wake up in the morning and look forward to the day and going to work. If that's doing nothing and getting paid for it....or doing something productive and creative and not have the great instant income....be a Happy Havoc. LOL

The older I get the more I just want to be happy with each day, and help people get what they want......

Good luck brother.......

This is so true! The more you make...the more you spend.

door #2. you still have other means of income besides your main job, knicka. and the house can wait. go take job #2 which obviously entails 3 or 4 more floors of bathrooms full of nasty fucking dookie-filled toilets to clean up, plus you may have some people working under you to take under your wing. this is responsibility, my man. just remember that there is no future in your fronting. numbah 2.

I think you have to look at your quality of life. Where do you think you'd be happier? While compensation is extremely important, I think job satisfaction is probably more so. Most big companies today care little for the people, it's all about profits. I have learned this the hard way this year by having to lay off managers that worked for me that I cared about and respected. In the end the decisions were made based on business need and profitability, not on these peoples contributions to the company.

While I like my job for the most part, despite these facts, my ten year plan is to save, save, save, and then semi-retire in my 40s and do something I truly love as opposed to hustle my ass in the corporate world. My job today is simply a means to an end and not the end itself. Anyway, do what you think is right, and what will bring you more satisfaction.

Zebo, Supersizeme, Schweeler, Kronk, you guys are solid, great advice.
Here is what I am going to do, after about 1 hour on the phone.

I'm going to take the job offered by my company, I talked to my other possibility and asked them to empathize with me, they said take the job due to the fact that the first months over here are going to be slow, they want to build me up first, like an upcoming movie and shit, and gradually make me Ninja status in the company, which is fine and understandable, I will do my job that I just accepted which is 40 hours a week, work off an on through the week at this other opportunity for about 10 hours a week, building myself up , letting niggas know what I'm about, and gradually build up my clientele, when one outweighs the other that is when I will say "goodbye" to one of them, all of this along with my store should keep me busier than Supersizeme during nap time at a cub scout retreat. peace

lol...if you had given "both" as an option i think we all would've agreed on that.
i realize you don't want to get specific about this other job on the board...but this is not some multi-level marketing pyramid bullshit type position you are about to get into is it? the whole "build up your clientele" has a disconcerting ring to it. am i going to open up my door one day and see a 245lb robot trying to get me to renew my Maxim subscription while upright rowing a two plated bar?

Are you going to replace Tony Little on the Informercial Circut?!!!

Bwaaaa, LOL, that would be your "Home Decorating" subscription, no , it has nothing to with that, its an opportunity in the health and fitness field that is actually easy to succeed in, but patience is essential.
At first I did not know that both were an option, now when I talked to the other opportunity and told them my situation, they were like "say fool, do dem both kid", I was like "damn son, you fuckas is on time". peace

That is just wrong!

I have never worked as a caban boy.

Havoc, you know I feel the same way about the shitty company we both work for, but to each his own, and I want you to do whatever YOU want to do. I'll take all your fucking hours and not work any of them, that way It will be like I got a raise too!!

sounds like a good fucking plan!!!!!!

It will suck though without you here, then I'll have nobody to show me their abs to give me some major motivation. I'll get by though, I guess Rod can show me his distended ass stomach!!!

You have stated in the past that you avoid any sort of negativity in your life. Why would you want to welcome it into your life by taking this position?

Good point my Del the funkee homosapien listening friend, however, I will turn the negative aspect of it into positive by flipping the script, I have a plan indeed. peace brother

Immediately quit both companies and take up panhandling as I did. You set your own hours, get plenty of fresh air and sunshine, and you meet lots of interesting people.
