Elbow joint pain

First, a little background information. I am 22yrs old and was big into lifting in highschool. I was forced to take a break due to tendonitis/forearm pain. I have overcame that but now I am experiencing pain in my elbows. It doesn't hurt when I do biceps or shoulders but when I do triceps I will get a sharp pain in the joint in my elbow.

I have started taking fish oil, flax seed, and Mona-vie Active which contains glucosamine and condroitin, hoping this will help a little. I have also done some research and am going to try the "super 7" www.hughston.com/hha/a.seven.htm

Besides from this, would you guys please voice your opinions on what else should I be doing?

I really want to get back into lifting, and will do anything to achieve this.

Thanks a lot.

I played basketball in high school and developed bad tendonitus in my knees and it got to the point where I couldn't practice more than two days in a row. After high school I got into lifting and developed the same problems with my left elbow. It is most painful at the beginning of a lift session and especially affects me on bi's, tri's, shoulders and chest. The pain is just below the elbow. Its commonly known as tennis elbow. I take glucosamine every day which helps minimally. The thing that works best for me is wearing a tight strap just beneath the elbow and it helps immensely. It used to be at the point where I would just stop lifting and do cardio when it was particularly bothersome to now where i can always lift through it. Make sure you do a few warm up sets to maximize elasticity. The strap I wear is made by nike. It is a velcro strap (not a brace) and when pulled tightly supplies great tendon support. Good luck...

There have been numerous forums on this in the past. You may want to check them out.

Any links? I tried searching but didn't come up with much.

Thanks.

good to see you're on the oils. Hopefully good ones and enough of them. Also, I've tried a lot of different gluc/chond/msm supps and the only one that worked was the Osteo Bi-Flex name brand. Might also look into cissus.

Hope you are warming those elbows up enough before you start your lifts.
