Elbow cracking

New member
My elbow has been cracking from as long as I remember. Even before I started working out any suggestions. You think I should use a peptide or Joint helping pills?

I think your asking the wrong forumn...(jk) Maybe you should have it checked out by a doc? Why risk making it worse, and if its not an issue and the doc tells you so...youll at least have peace of mind...
Would suck to finally start making some gains on your chest (other post) then get injured....imho

I did he was kind of a Dick. I wanted one of those shots blanked out on.name to numb pain. I told him it only cracked even I worked out and it wasnt to painfull. He didn't even look at it said I should do therapy. The therapy was every day and I work so decided against it.

Well he may have decided against the shot if he believed that therapy by itself would work. Docs usually issue shots only when absolutely necessary and you don't want to rely on cortisone shots if there are alternatives...

I have reoccouring tendonitis in my right elbow. I get a cortizone shot about every 3 months. I had it so bad I had to stop lifting for 3 months. I lost a ton of muscle and gained some fat. Go to a sports med orthopedic surgeon. I think
ill be doin the surgery this winter. get it fixed before you end up like me.

A cracking or popping sound in a joint could be caused by any one of a number of things, including harmless conditions. Assuming you aren't in pain, or are in very little pain, I would recommend you see a sports medicine doctor, not a surgeon. Some ortho surgeons recommend surgery before anything, period. A good sports medicine doctor will discuss the complete range of options more impartially.

I have tendonitis in the back of my elbow where the tri attaches to the elbow. But I can lay my arm out straight flex my bi and slowly bring my forearm up(as if im trying to flex) and on the way up ... crack.... Harmless. Annoying, but harmless.

You may want to look into prolotherapy in your elbow. Hit the entire elbow. It will tighten up the whole joint. Its worth every penny. Did it to my elbows and both rotator cuffs.

Ok im deff making a physical therapy appointment. Mainly for wrist tho lol. Its been killing elbow isnt a big deal just annoying not to painful. Wrist has been pretty bad I don't think its to serious but took a week off.gym felt like it got better but today couldn't do DB bench. Then on barbell.my right shoulder felt like it was going to pop off. So pissed just started igf so want to.just work through it. Maybe ill do light weights.

I agree with joeblow, when I was doing jiujitsu every day I got bad tendonitis in my right elbow and wearing one of those elbow sleeves during training really helped... it stopped clicking as much and hurt less afterwards. It has to fit right tho, it's supposed to be tight to compress the area. I twould go to physical therapy too, but just for one session. Get a list of exercises to do and have them show u how to do em, then just do them by yourself every day for a few weeks. You can go back once every few weeks to check up on progress and get new exercises to do, but I wouldn't waste the time/money on daily PT sessions. I also wouldn't mess with cortisone, it can just mask the problem so you keep aggravating it in training and turn it into a more serious problem that you might need surgery for. Hope u get that taken care of, it really sucks having to take time off cuz of injuries

curious, have you been or have you used a smith machine?
Those damn things have screwed a number of people I know. Just curious. Id try to see a sports med guy, when I hurt mine I saw the team doctor for the Columbus Blue Jackets, (surgeon) First thing he asked was, do you want to put the time in to fix it, or do you want surgery and it will never be the same? No surgery. He had me do PT with ice, ultra sound, and heat. took a while! (yeah...smith machine)

Go to inzer.com they sell some good elbow wraps for about $50. My buddy has a pair and he has used them for years. I feel like if your going to spend the money you might as well buy top quality once instead of multiple cheap pairs.
