Happens to me too - I always hold the door for people behind me .... LOTS of people don't say thanks or even smile ... young, old, fat, thin, ugly, pretty .... they just walk right in, like I am hired help. I think it is more due to everyone thinking they deserve the world for no reason at all.

Thank god I am not the only one with that pet peeve. The other day I was walking out out of my gym and I did something similar. Some dude was walking out behind me and I held the door for him and the dude just gives me this shitty look. Good thing the gym has two sets of doors because after I opened the next one I wrapped my hand around the other side and slammed it shut behind me. I heard a pretty loud thud when it smashed into his face. It was a little extreme but some people need to learn some freaking manners.
