Eggs

Dietary Cholesterol does not really effect blood cholesterol, its saturated fat that your liver is more likely to convert to blood cholesterol. I dont think 4-6 whole eggs a day is a problem.
 
Why don't you take 4-6 whites + 1-2 yolks ?
 
yeah i suppose i could....but I feel like I am wasting half the protein with every yolk i throw away
 
my 6 eggs look like this:

6 whites
3 yolks

so you throw away 3 yokes.

total protein - 27g
total fat -18g
==================
total cals - 270
 
eggs are one of the cheapest source of protein

so I guess you can "waste" a few yolks ....

BTW there is as much protein in the yolk as in the whites
 
I buy egg whites in a 1 litre carton similar to a milk carton.
Costs about $4 (AU) from the health food shop, about the same as a dozen eggs but contains ten times the egg whites.
Best way to do it IMO
