effectiveness of close grip declines?

REHAB QUESTION - Declines for triceps?

Long story short, I'm recovering from a shoulder operation 8 months ago. CGBP is very uncomfortable. Flat Bench is progressing nicely.

I was thinking the decline bench may serve the same function for my triceps as a board press and not agrevate my shoulder repair so much. Are these worth while or should I just buy some boards and start doing the board presses on flat bench?

Accoridng to Charles Poliquin the best for those who can't do Dips for reps and want to build tris.

When my RC was really bad, I did rolling db extensions on a decline, SL & OneBreath showed them to me, there fun aswell, have u heard of them or shall I find u a video?

Cool. Can't wait to try em.

ON a side note, I saw the doc for my final checkup and voiced my concerns about the CGBP. He then gave me some smart-ass comment like, "I'm trying to think of the benefit of a CGBP..."

I explained it was to build tricep strength and to strengthen the lockout on a bench press.

Then he told me to use a cable...

Lol @ the doc advice...

tried these today and I think they will work. The decline does not have as much shear force on the shoulder joint when doing the CG. I will add these to my routine.

The range of motion seems longer than the board presses, but it will work.
