Ebay Seller and an entire message board scam the scammer (good, but long read!)

some guy was selling a brand new G4 powerbook on EBAY, and he thought something was up, so he took it to a message board (like EF) and a bunch of people got involved to fuck over the scammer. it's some funny ass shit.

however, unless you are a paying member of somethingawful.com, you can't read the entire thread, but there are external links with the .pdf and html version of the message board posts.

screws the guy when it goes through customs by declaring a value of $2k on the 3-ring binder. the scammer pays the duties.

board members living in the UK tracked down the delivery address and were there (hiding, of course) when the "powerbook" was delivered to the scammer.

story ends there.

right, the scammer faked an escrow site...the scammer was trying to get the powerbook for free. the guy selling it reverse scammed him, however, all he paid for was overseas shipping (which members of his board paid for for him). the scammer ended up paying maybe $175 in duties upon arrival of the package to england and ended up with nothing but realizing that HE got scammed instead of scamming the dude.

no, it has an ending with the scammer. it's on the actual thread, but i already viewed my 20+ pages, and can't view anymore without signing up and paying for the message board. i already read part of it, but couldnt finish...

"He paid the fee and there was a lot of rustling, he was opening one of the boxes, there was more angry raised voices and the barber said something like "is it broken etc", the guy said something like its wrong/mistake I don't think he really understood the joke right away. There was more raised voices but not real arguing, the guy didn’t suspect the barber of anything and didn’t as far as I know explain what happen to him. Probably to keep his post office box if the barbers not in on it."
