i eat it with just about every meal aside from dinner.

in the morning I'll have either oatmeal w/ 2 pieces of toast and anpb or egg beaters and 2 pieces with smt balance butter.

usually lunch means a sandwich with plenty of meat and 2 pieces of whole wheat bread again.

dinner is usually w/o it.

but before bed i'll have another 2 pieces and anpb and sometimes honey with it. try to cure the sweet tooth with an alternative.

question... i am hurting my progress with this much bread??

I eat natures Own 100% whole wheat bread, it breaks down like this:

50 cals per serving (1 slice)
10 cals from fat
1g fat
0 cholesterol
10g carb
2g dietary fiber
1g sugar
4g protein
115mg sodium

any opinions??

Theres nothing wrong with whole wheat bread its great for you, the only downside I can see is eating alot of it later in the day could hinder weight loss because of the carbs late at night, depending how many slices you are eating after say...4pm.

use peanut butter on it in the morning.

i dont know about wholewheat but eating more than 4 slices of white bread cause indigestion.

it's fine to eat later in the day, carbs. do not make you fat after a certain time of day. It's a myth. Carbs. do however, inhibit the release of GH while sleeping so it is best to keep them out of your meal right before bed. I would keep the pb and lose the bread pre bed, and have some cottage cheese. You want a good source of slow digesting proteins right before bed.

Natures Own makes a lower carb bread that tastes just the same... just in case you were interested. It's the one with yellow on the wrapper and only has 7 carbs per serving, 1g of fat, and 6g of protien. It's called "wheat and fiber" I think.

Check the ingredients for hydrogenated oils, sugars, etc......if anything like that is in the list or if it's anything other than 100% whole wheat then keep the consumption to a minimum.

no hydorgenated oils but plenty of other stuff:

stone ground whole wheat flour, water, brown sugar, yeast, wheat gluten, 2% or less of the following:salt, vegetable oil(soybean or canola oil) dough conditioners(sodium stearoyl, lactylate, calcium stearoyl-2-lactylate, monoglycerides, calcium diglycerides, calcium peroxide, cultured whey(milk), vinegar, calcium sulfate, monocalcium phosphate, yeast food(ammonium sulfate)

wow!! that sounds like a serious list of chemicals. this is supposed to be the good stuff i thought.

is this sh*t helping or hurting??

Hmmmmmmm - brown sugar........

You know the best way to find out? Eliminate it completely for 4-6 weeks & see if it makes a diff. for your body.

is the brown sugar good or bad?? it's better than regular sugar I know that. I may just have to go back to Ezekiel bread.

Thanks for the input.

Brown sugar is the same as white or granulated sugar. It's still sugar.
