Easy meals for a 16 y/o to make?

Yeah so its summertime now, and i told my mom i would learn to cook things for myself. I already do my breakfast on my own, and one of my meals.

My one meal i make i love, its cream of wheat, with milk, protein scoops, lots of fruits, some oats, all mixed together. Its probably around 500-800calories and it tastes great.

I need some help learning how to cook other stuff. Does anybody have any suggestions, or sites i can learn from? Stuff that is healthy though. I'm not cutting, nor am i bulking. I'm just eating like a horse, so im not watching my intake just eating a lot.

My main question is i need to learn how to make some meals, that wouldn't necessarily take a long time and are fairly easy to make and in a good amount of time. Any suggestions?

here's some stuff on eggs too

Best tips I've learned:
Never leave a pan unattended on the stove
Add salt after cooking
Stick to the basics if you're not sure.
Clean up the kitchen as you go so you don't have a giant mess afterward to clean up

Good luck!!!!

I've made turkey burgers a staple of my diet.

Whole wheat bun, two turkey patties, and some home-made low-sugar/salt condiments (chop up your own pickles, onions and tomatoes to make a "fresh" relish). Takes about 10m start to finish if you form your own patties from ground turkey - and weighs in at around 50g of protein and approx. 500 Kcal. Delicious, IMO :).

Open face tuna sandwiches are also a regular contender for my "lunch" - made with whole grain bread, low fat mayo, sugar free dill relish and some frank's red-hot you can cram 40g of protein in about 15m. Just mix your tuna ingredients together, lump it on bread, cover with some cheese of your choice, and set it in the oven @ "low broil" with the door cracked a bit.

Please remember to practice good hygiene when you're cooking with raw meats as well - nothing like a case of salmonella to drop 5lbs off your frame...

I just turned 16 and I can make pretty much any meal I need. Steak, chicken, eggs, oats, rice, potatoes, omlettes whatever it is I want I could probably make it myself. My mum does cook some of my meals but if she wasnt there I wouldnt miss out.

Alot of it is practice and becoming confident in the kitchen, start off with basic things and see if your mum will teach you to cook stuff...

I am not all the best in the kitchen. I do clean up as i go, and its just a habit i have now, and i have learned a lot from cooking little things and from my mom. Like i know how to season stuff, and then let it soak over and cook it the next morning. And i know how to make omelettes and whatnot.
I am not the best with meats though, i never know when its done even with the thermometer and it tells me lol, and im pretty impatient waiting there cooking it.. Thats why i like making things that are quick, like my breakfast takes 20-30minutes to make, and my one meal i cook takes 10minutes to make. They both taste great and fill me up, i was sort of looking for meals like that =D

Anyways, i do have the Anabolic cookbook, i'll have to get the book out and look over some of the recipes.

Any suggestions on quick meals? What sorts of things can i make other than my cream of wheat meal? Something quick and fairly easy :P

here is an easy way to cook. heat the oven to 350. put what ever you want in there and just keep checking it until its done. you will get the hang of it. a good way to flavor everything is with ms dash there are a few varieties.

If you don't have time to wait for a large piece of meat to cook, you can always cut it up smaller.
Lean beef and chicken is so easy in the pan. Use a non stick pan so it doesn't stick. Just heat up the pan to med-high, add in the meat, and cook it till it's done. With chicken, that's when there is no pink or blood at all. With beef, well that's up to you. I like it just with some pink left in the middle.
Make a quick salad, drizzle some olive oil and vinegar on it, and microwave a sweet potato or two for six-seven minutes and you're good to go.
Shouldn't take longer than 15 minutes.
You could also spend a hour or two on Sunday night making up some meals for the next few days.
Baking a tray of chicken legs/thighs/breasts. (Oven 375 for around an hour to an hour and a half.) You can really cook the hell out of chicken and it's still fine as long as it's not burning.
Making a few cups of brown rice- a rice cooker makes it easy)
Baking a few sweet potatoes- you can put them in with the chicken on the other rack. Just put them on a tray in the oven, prick them with a fork, cook at 375 for an hour or so.
Get some reusable containers ( I like glass Starfrit ones so I can microwave the meal again)
Put the chicken, brown rice, and sweet potato in. Throw in some raw brocolli or another vegetable that won't mind being microwaved (carrot, asparagus, green beans, whatever). Add a sprinkle of salt and pepper if you like.
