i have a bit of a problem for the next 4 weeks. i have a large lot of whey protein on order from the US but it wont arrive until at least that time. i cant justify going out and buying another tub as fiscal issues prevent it at the moment. i am just going to wait it out and try and find other sourses of protein.
i dont think i know too many alternatives. i am eating boiled eggs, beans and trying to eat lean meats. i have been making shakes in the morning with soy milk and banana with a few teaspoons of flax seed oil. if there is anything i can add to the shake that will up protein intake i'd appreciate being told.
if anyone could tell me of any foods, snacks etc. that are high in protein i would appreciate it. Any suggestions are appreciated!
thanks all

peanut butter, i eat 500g of it a week.

when people say natural peanut butter, is there a difference between it and the everyday stuff you buy in the supermarkets? also, do you eat it on bread or something else? carb intake being the only problem??

There is a huge difference, Natural peanut butter should have two ingredients, peanuts and salt. Regular peanut butter has sugar and trans fatty acids which is very very bad. Some people eat it staright out of the jar, it's good that way. That being said, peanuts are a terrible source of protein from a protein quality standpoint(PCDAAS of .52 Vs. 1.00 for milk, cottage cheese and eggs), the fats are healthy but nothing to write home about and it may still have too many carbs if you're doing a keto diet.

I either put a tablespoon in a chocolate protein shake and mix it up in the blender, or I spread it on some celery. As mentioned before, not something to really rely too heavily on as a quality source of protein, but I love the stuff so it keeps me from cheating.

good to know. well, i know you guys are crazy about peanut butter over in the US, maybe thats why its all a bit harder to find over here. i have no trouble finding the normal (obviously non-natural) peanut butter here, but i cant find any other kind. i know you guys wouldnt be able to help me out on this one, but do you get it in your normal supermarkets or in health food shops??
thanks for the info

love it on celery dude

The label says for every 200 calories (17fat, 5carb, 7pro) it only 4g of sugar. I dont think thats anything to worry bout

2- Soy- bad. My gyno got worse with that shit. Why do you think women supplements in the superM are soy based.

I get mine from the local supermarket, they have a "health food" section. A specialty health food store should definitely carry it.

Yep, any good health food store should have some

You can also look for almond butter

natural almond butter again? ive never seen it. i'll head down to the nearest helath food store and take a look.

no i dont think im eating natural peanut butter, but it has 22g of protein per 100g serving. i eat it straight out of the jar with a spoon.

i finally found some! went to a all natural health stoe and they made it for me. only problem is the stuff is so dry! celery seems like a good thing to have it on to give it a little bit of moisture. any other suggestions? i had some on toast today and had to throw half of it out because it was taking me too long to eat it!
cheers
