Dumb ass question

When I see all the time on diets '1 cup of oats' I wonder what way you all eat the oats? Raw, dry, with water?

i eat them raw (dry), or throw them in a cup of water and just scoop them out, I don't usually cook them.

Thanks Clean, although somehow I was hoping there was a nicer way to eat them...lol

yeh, I mean it only takes a minute to cook.

Sometimes I'll do what Killa said, I'll just put water and the oats in a bowl with cinnamon and splenda. Usually I don't even cook it like that, I'll just eat it raw.

I take mine with skimmed (0,3%) milk. oats in water look like something you would apply to your walls prior to painting!!!

You can also microwave it

I eat mine with liquid eggwhites (the kind you get out of a carton) and a dash (1/4 cup) of soy milk to make it easier to go down.

Raw oats make my tummy cramp!

I throw 1/2 cup in with 1 cup of water and throw that in the micro and nuke for 2.5 mins. After it is cooked, i add some splenda, cinnamon(or nutmeg)and a tbsp of sugar free maple syrup. Tastes just like maple and brown sugar kind :p

Was just curious. I have mine at breakfast micro-waved and add in a scoop of flavoured protein powder with some saw palmeto drops and a spoonfull of flax oil. Tastes like the protein powder so not bad at all. As for other meals it's a little harder to get down just mixed with water or even with protein powder in my shaker.
Thanks for the replies and k.
Any other variations would be greatly excepted.

Put the kettle on for 5 minutes, throw your oats into a measuring cup, see how much you want. throw that into a bowl. get your jam/splenda/spices/whatever you want out and ready, by then the water will be done boiling, add it to the oats and your set (dont forget to add you jam or splenda lol).

Raw in a blender with milk, protein, banana, peanut butter and flax seed oil and take my multi....very good and very filling, for breakfast. I got the recipe from this site somewhere and I love it.

Dave

you know, that sounds like a good alternative to a weight gain shake like those N-large things.
