I might be the last person to know this...
I found out yesterday, by accident, that if you write over permanent ink on a dry erase board with a dry erase marker, and then wipe it off, the permanent ink comes up with it. I use a lot of dry erase boards in my gym, and occassionally someone will accidentally write on one with a perm. marker. That's pretty easy to fix now. It's also nice if you're trying to make a grid with a perm. marker and screw up. You can clean up the edges by writing over it with a fine tip dry erase marker, and wiping the perm. marker mistake away.
