Dry Erase Boards FYI

I might be the last person to know this...

I found out yesterday, by accident, that if you write over permanent ink on a dry erase board with a dry erase marker, and then wipe it off, the permanent ink comes up with it. I use a lot of dry erase boards in my gym, and occassionally someone will accidentally write on one with a perm. marker. That's pretty easy to fix now. It's also nice if you're trying to make a grid with a perm. marker and screw up. You can clean up the edges by writing over it with a fine tip dry erase marker, and wiping the perm. marker mistake away. :)

Damn...dont give away all the gym secrets. "What happens in the gym, stays in the gym"....

Next you will be tellin everyone about the "magic sponge"...

:lmao:

Oh yeah!!!! If you guys haven't tried those Mr. Clean Magic Erase sponges yet, check them out. I was able to clean the exterior paint by my front door, the interior paint that I thought I was going to have to paint over to get my grubby kid's handprints off of, it cleaned grout with no effort, and even the handles on my refridgerator that are impossible to get clean when dirt gets in those tiny little grooves. I also cleaned my front door with it (steel), and it looks like I just painted it. Those little things are amazing. I can't wait for them to come in floor mop size!

Not to steal your thunder Spatts, but this is old news at the company I work for.:)

The average cubicle at my campus has 2 dry erase boards in them. I had three at one point.

..and you're right. It works GREAT! Another excellent way to clean them is isopropyl alcohol. Makes them as good as new.

I couldn't get alcohol to remove the perm. marker, but it is great for cleaning the board.

Your company is harboring valuable cleaning knowledge! If I were you I'd quit, out of integrity. :)

No, the alcohol won't remove the permanent marker, but it will make it bright white again. (They tend to get "muddy" looking after a few months of heavy use.)

That would be a great Exit Interview to sit in on:

"So why are you leaving the company?"
"You never told the outside world how to clean white boards. That's just not right."

:D
