drugs and security clearances

suppose my friend shroomed a couple times two years ago, and has smoked a lot of pot but not since last year. what kind of repercussions might this have for a security clearance at say, lockheed martin

Did he tell anyone or is it documented? If this is just for a confidential or even a secret background check, that shouldn't be a hindrance.

uh...if he is getting a TS/SCI clearance, you can bet your fuckin' biscuits they are going to find out. the amount of time and resources spent diffing up information from people you have long since forgotten about is mind-boggling.

don't think for two seconds your 'close' friends wont start spilling the beans when they have some federal agents coming by unexpectedly and asking question about you/him.

he's a terrible liar, so i knew they were probly gonna ask about it and find out. i know how the process works because i've had other friends go through it - really i was wondering if anybody knew whether or not investigators would reject him, once they find out his drug history.
