Dr visits?

Hey everyone,
Does anyone actually visit a doctor regularly for testing during a cycle? I know it's highly recommended (and rational), but I don't know anyone's experience with this. It seems like it would be pointless since the doctor would just say "hell no u shouldn't be taking steroids, they'll kill u". Has anyone found that doctors will actually go "well, since ur gonna do it anyway, let's make sure you don't fuck up ur liver"? I'm also curious about the patient-doctor privacy deal. Does that apply to illegal drug use, or will a doc try and bust ur ass?
I ask because I belong to an HMO and it would only cost me $10 a pop for regular check-ups, but if they won't listen or I'll get nabbed by the feds then fuck it.
Any thoughts?

Thanks;)

the dr has the right to put it in your file, and the insurance co has the right to see the information in your file.therefore they may not pay.its a 50/50 shot.

I have approached the subject with my doctor. I have a legitimate muscle condition in my back that I believe steroids may help. Two different physical therapists have told me that my rhomboids and trapezium are too small and weak to deal with the stress I put on them. As a result, the affected muscles overstress and inflame causing intense pain for weeks. The cure for this problem is to build up my rhomboids and trapezium. I have tried to strengthen them naturally but can't keep a workout routine going long enough to have a therapeutic affect because the muscles overstress and inflame and force me to stop working out for a few weeks to let them heal. Steroids may help me get results more quickly before the muscles overstress. The positive effects on recovery will help too. Even with this legitimate medical excuse, my doctor would not give me a prescription for steroids. He did, however, agree to help me keep closely monitored if I was going to do it anyway. He said he had an ethical problem with prescribing them but he did not see anything wrong with helping me make sure I'm not causing myself long term harm. Whenever I want to be monitored, I just drop him an email and he sets it up. I just went Friday and had some blood drawn to check liver and kidney function. There wasn't even a co-pay! I just went in; they stuck me and I walked out.

The moral of this story is: Never lie to your DOCTOR or your LAWYER. Because of doctor/patient confidentiality, he can't go to the police.

Spidey,
Thanks for the reply, but I think your situation may be a bit different. Your doctor thinks you're using them for a leigitmate reason, which is why he may be sympathetic. If you were using them (or abusing them, as he would probably say) for "recreational" purposes then he might have a different attitude toward it. I gather from the lack of response to this that not many people get check-ups while cycling, which is what I'm curious about I suppose.
