I wish I woulda been more aware back around the turn of the century and bought a bunch of double eagles at $200 spot. Do your holdings include coins or bars? If they're coins, there's always a numismatic premium, depending on what they are.

Doesnt matter as the dollar keeps falling. Falling dollar = rising stock market.

Yup. Our dollar will continue to soften which will lower every American's standard of living.

Given the choice between a strong dollar and your portfolio in the shitter which do you take, since your statement implies you have to make a choice.

You don't have to make a choice. The stock market can rise due to a strong economy and/or a weakening dollar. The initial recovery came from companies cost-cutting which always runs out of gas eventually. Now we're getting gains from a sinking dollar.

I strongly suspect the rest of the world is quietly shifting away from the US dollar as the reserve currency of choice. I was probably 92%+ in dollars last year and now I'm 58%. That's still a little bit too high -- I'd like to be about 50/50.
