Don't lend anything to anyone -money, dvds etc...

I'm not currently (nor for the past 4 months) speaking to one of my friends because of money owed. Plus I had to track him down to get my car back I let him borrow.

He still calls once in a while giving his new number and saying we need to hang out, but I've not even saved the number in my phone.

I loan out books to people frequently, and it's up to me to track who has what, so I can call their ass in 3 months and ask for it back..

I hear ya Y-Lifter. I have come to a point in my life when I just don't want to hunt anyone down for anything. I made a list up last night of stuff I lent out over the course of 1 year and plan to try to collect it all this month. It was a long list which led me to enforce a No more lending policy.

The best was a $3000 mountain bike that I bought brand new and my friend borrowed it the first day I brought it home. It took 6 months for me to get it back. He had the nerve to tell me he "tuned" it up for me like he was doing me a favor. The bike was brand new never used when you took it. Needless to say, I am no longer friends w/this cat.

I personally don't borrow things from people, but if I did I would make sure to return it timely...

Yeah...I don't fuck around with other people's shit...I just wish other people were like that.

Problem is some people in life I guess are givers and some are takers. I have always been a giver going out of my way for people. This is a great quality, but it can be taken advantage of by opportunist. So I am trying to change my ways.

Why do I feel uncomfortable asking for my money back if the person borrowing it didn't feel uncomfortable to ask me? It just gets uncomfortable when you have to keep bringing it up and up and up and up....

I lent my older sister $750 once and it took her damn ass a year to pay me back.. Last time i lent $$ out to anyone.... Can't even trust your damn family, how can you trust your friends.

IMO, if a friend doesn't pay you back, then that person isn't your friend at all. I'd rather find out that way, instead of calling on them when I really need them and get let down. My dad always told me never to lend anything you can't afford to lose.

In the rare times I have borrowed something from someone in
my life, I ALWAYS returned it in BETTER condition than when I got it.

Vehicle? WASHED or Gassed up
Tools ? Cleaned better than it was
CD's ect ? When I bring it back, I bring one of mine to share or give then a burned CD
