Why? Didn't they lose taylor and thomas? I'd go with Howie's kid or Glen Dorsey before taking an OT number one. He could be the next Robert Gallery........lmao. Totally not worth the 59 million they're looking at giving him. If you're going offense, why not just take McFadden?

simple...parcells believes you start building a team on the offensive line.
it's worked many times. Belichick, mangini, and crennel have done similar shit (from that system of course).

dolphins o-line was actually one of their bright spots last year. They just have no quarterback, and no wide receivers. Ronnie brown was having a retarded year before he torn his ACL. He's a pretty good back so they don't need to draft mcfadden. that team needs ALOT more than mcfadden. they're fucked on both sides of the ball

i'm not sold on howie's kid. i think he's undersized....and dorsey is another question mark after his injury.

it's a pretty safe pick.

One less team to keep the Pats from taking a good D. Watch Seymourbutts get traded for a late 1st and 3rd rounder and the Pats take Sedrick Ellis
 
Probably the best player in the draft. Not just saying that cause I am a U of M fan, but because the guy is a man child. I am pretty sure the past 2 years he has not allowed a sack from the weak side.

McFadden could be the next Adrian Peterson or the next big bust. More likely to be a decent player, not a huge game changer like Peterson.

I am screwed either way...I am a Lions fan.

that's just stupid. that's like saying lebron was going to be a bust (just because of the hype).

if you saw the guy in college and what he did with NO help whatsoever, it's hard to say otherwise. his offensive line sucked..his quarterback wasn't very good and he still kept them in the game against some of the top college programs.

the guy is fast as hell. put him behind a decent offensive line and you got AP 2.0

and yes i'll use AP..because no one knows what AP would have done if he wasn't behind the best line in the NFL

Stupid eh? I'll be sure to bump this thread in 3-4 years when he's a backup. I watched him plenty in college, and I'm not impressed with all those long runs to the outside. He wont get away with that shit in the NFL.

If the pats dont' get gholston, they ain't doing nothing in this draft.


And I'm just not sold at taking an offensive lineman in the top 5. Lineman usually take years to develop.

Lets not get crazy here. Minnesota spent a shit load of cash to get Hutch and the others, but Peterson is just a beast. I was at the game when he stood strait up and ran over one of our line backers. Took him on head up and mowed him down like a nothing. The guy is one of those freaks. Barry Sanders, Jim Brown, Walter Peyton caliber most likely. Time will tell.

McFadden put up some nice numbers, but so did Felix Jones. What does that tell you.
 
The pats are gonna take the other long, if he's still there. And they wouldn't trade semore for the 2 first rounders.

I don't see why Gholston is supposedly so great. He was a mess in college. Laurinaitis carried the defense for Ohio U.

They were talking about it today on NESN. He was the third best DL on the team last year, is due for a contract renewal, and has been pissy at the recent camps.

The Pats are looking at getting an early third rounder so they can go after one of the LB from Virginia Tech, Hall or Adibi. Both were in New England for workouts.

Even Jason Taylor was not getting two first rounders....and he has better knees than Seymorebutts

Gholston was the pressure back. He could get after the qb WAY better than laurinaitis. He's a physical freak. Probably not smart enough to play the mike back in the NFL......but in the patriots scheme he would be sick. He's exactly what they're looking for in their 3-4 scheme. He'll be able to step up and play and DE on a whim. I don't think they'll take long......long is a 4-3 DE. If the patriots had him they'd only bring him in on 3rd and long situations like cleveland does with Fraser.

Matt Ryan had a good rookie yr, meh sophmore year, and a great 3rd season but shit the bed come playoff time. I was def wrong but I just don't think he's THAT great.

Mcfadden tore shit up this year which suprised EVERYONE

i seriously feel like with mcfadden it's lebron all over again.

everyone wanted lebron to fail (including myself) due to the hype surrounding him.

kid totally stepped up.

mcfadden will not be a bust....the worst i could picture is he doesn't live completely up to expectations. but he's a 1000+ yard rusher easy.

has that breakaway speed
 
i think mcfaden would do great with the jets new o-line.........

I keep going back and forth on who's taking who..........i just cant wait till saturday. 2 days 17 hours and 6 min till the draft. I'll be happy if the jets can get either mcfaden(even thought i think we have a good core of rb's) or gholston or even troy mckelven.

On a different note.....i just read that the cowboys got pacman jones
 
Dude comparing Mcfadden to Lebron James in terms of hype is ridiculous.

McFadden couldn't sniff Leron James jock in terms of talent at any age for there sport.

I know you are a Jets fan bro, but you guys are some sick and twisted individuals when it comes to hype and expectations of your team and players. I remember you saying Manini was a "great coach"

I can't argue that you didn't improve this offseason though. Gonna be great competition, which makes the rivalry sick.
 
I don't get the hype on McFadden. Athletically I don't think he's as good as Reggie Bush. I think he'll be a tougher runner than Reggie, which means he might do better.......but he's not going to run over people like he did in college. And he's not going to outrun any secondaries either. Moves wise I don't think he's that agile laterally......which means he's a downhill runner who will hit the hole hard, but he's not making any moves to get himself to the second level. If he ends up behind an awesome oline, like Peterson.......he should do pretty good though.
