Does What You Drive Matter?

If i were to get rid of my nice car and payments, do you think people would think lesser of me because i drive around in a practical piece of junk. Would I have trouble getting girls because i look poor?
I am concerned about self image. I pretty much busted my arse an work more than most. But in a way it doesnt matter what you drive, but i worked to hard to not have something nice even though I would have more if i lived below my means for a while..

No need to drive a car to impress anyone, just have one that doesn't make you look like a bum.

I was thinking of a light blue 88 honda accord 5 speed, 4 door. Not sporty, not nice..good on gas.

Eventually i would like to get a nice car, but i need to save up.Im just wondeiring if i could put up with driving an underpowered pos for a while.

Cars only matter if it is related to your work (i.e. real estate agent) or if you are very shallow.

Most cars that are not absolute shitboxes (i.e. well-kept and clean) will not make anyone think any different of you.

The only people that will think less of you are people that you do not need in your life anyway.

There are so many great cars that you can get for about 10-15k, that you should not be too worried.

I drive a 92 Honda Accord. It's basically a peice but it's in great shape and doesn't look like a shit box at all.

I would rather be driving a more reliable and newer stylish car, but this is what my financials can afford atm.

Trust me there is a big difference in reactions when I drive my 99 lumina that's decked out vs. my '78 chevy 3/4ton that has the wheels falling off of it.
