Does using steroids at a young age really affect hormones later in life?

Let me start off with saying please don't post anything to flame. I'm here for advice and opinions from personal experience...

I just turned 19 and have already done two planned and researched cycles. I know many will say this is stupid and I agree but I am young and make mistakes. I began knowing what I was getting into. Prior to my cycles I had been working out religiously since I was 15 and with proper diet and lifting routines I got up to 6'0" 185lbs 10% bf. After two cycles I am now at 205lbs 8-9% bf.

First cycle was the basic 10wk 500mg Test with proper PCT and AIs throughout. Second was the same with Dbol kickstart and Winstrol end with PCT and AIs throughout. Even had blood tests before, during, and after both cycle with perfect panels. Cycles were over the course of a year. I definately follow the TIME OFF = TIME ON rule.

My question is this: has anyone started using at an age around mine and see negative side effects of hormones?

Now the reason I am asking this is because I have yet to see any sort of sexual side effect... no libido crash, no PCT crash, no loss of sex drive. I have yet to see any negative aspects to my steroid use. I believe in use rather than abuse.

If my steroid use has yet to slow down my hormones can I expect them to lower in the future?

Im at a point where I don't know if I should wait until i'm older or to continue since I have yet to see any negative effects.

I am all ears and will take all advice and critism to heart. I'm just trying to make the best decision possible.

Lets hear some input...

I juiced from 17-19. It was ok, I waited again till 22. it was great, I got MUCH better results and way less sides. Just give it a couple years bro, you wont regret it.

Yea, I am leaning towards waiting and going natty but it is so hard when I have only seen so much good from my use lol. Thx for the input.

I started when I was 23 or 24, can't remember for sure, not super young. But, one mistake I made was that I leaned too heavily on the cycles for results at first. Maybe you don't have this problem, but I did. It wasn't that I was taking a lot of stuff, it's just that I used it as a crutch. Now that I'm a little more experienced I look ten times better several months off cycle than I did back then when on. I've learned how to train and eat in a way that gives me (in particular) good results. Steroids have honestly become just another part of my training, dieting etc. not half of the whole like it used to be. I do a short cycle (6-8 weeks tops) a couple times per year and keep the doses moderate and have no trouble recovering hormonally.

I'm guessing that you are done growing taller, but sometimes it is hard to know for sure. If this is a concern, really watch your estrogen levels. Keep them low so the growth plates don't fuse prematurely. And, just know that soooo much more can be done naturally than we would like to believe sometimes. Good luck!

You will stunt your growth.
I grew inch from age 19 -21 and would have grown more had i not did a cycle back at 19
It was small 30mg of Dianabol - methandrostenolone - for 6 weeks but I know it stunted my growth.

When in front of a mirror my body has a unusual look to it.
My legs are fairly long and arms are long but yet my torso is very short almost like its missing afew inches and should have grown 2 inches taller.
I am 5'8 and with the 2 iches added in i would be 5'10 exactly the same size as my dad and older brother.

it makes my back look like it goes right into my ass when looking at me from behind and makes my apear to have really no midsection at all.
It does give me quite a wide shoulder apperance though .

If I had it all again to do over, I would change it all.
Atleast that first cycle and waited untill i was 21

I would be suprised if you can find much research done on this but it seems to me as an older BB, that there are more guys starting up at your age. My training partner is one of them. I am pleased that you have had no adverse side effects. However the question remains how will you be effected down the track. I understand that there is one top pro BB that started using gear at 15 including GH. I guess it depends where you set your personal goals and ambitions as to how much "risk" you take.

This is one of the potential sides, steroids can fuse the epiphyseal plates and stop growth. You are quite tall already, but this very generous and honest post does state some of the issues.

The one thing I would want you to consider is that your natural testosterone and growth levels are at their max right now, testosterone does not 'peak' until around 26, and then levels stay high until around 30-32.

Whenever you put something into the body, it gets lazy and frequently stops making whatever you put into it. Cellular receptors can be up or down regulated, this is also one of the issues with recreational drugs, and why people often need to take 'more' to get the same effect.

The other issue is that it may not affect one person, but it may affect another differently. It is that double edged sword of 'we are all the same' but 'we are also all different'. There are so many genetic, physiological and biological subtle variations...........................all of which can have an impact.

I think there is a place for the responsible use of steroids, you may want to enjoy the benefits of youth with your naturally high hormone levels and consider doing cycles again as those levels decrease later in life.
