does this board motivate you?

i don't post too often on this board, however reading about you guys hitting the gym, about your training, diet and stats gets me so excited and motivated i squirm in my chair for the last hour of work until i can finally lift.

so thanks.

bodhi.

You're damn right it motivates me, thats why I spend so much more time here then on the other boards. Hearing about everyone else's training only makes me want to train harder and better.

I train at a family fitness center with very few hardcore lifters, mostly kids and nancies. Its hard to get psyched in such an environment. However, since visiting this board, my training has become harder. I'm doing more squats and deads then ever, and my overall strength has increased dramatically.

I like this board because it allows me to see how other people train. When everyone starts mentioning squats and deadlifts, I become motivated to get to the gym and throw around some iron.

i never post on this board, but i spend alot of time seeing what other people do. thinking about trying the 50 reps for shits and giggles ;)

This board always motivates me. I'd say close to 95% of everyone who posts gets me pumped. I rarely see the kind of shit that makes me think "why do i waste my time on here ..." Everyone, from the newest newbie to hardcore professional ... always gets me wanting to hit the gym.

I'm the big fish in my little gym, so I lose touch with reality. This is a good place to come to keep my ego in check and let me know that I'm not actually very strong. Guys here are lifting like me and weighing 75-80 lbs less than I do. There are some hardcore athletes here, of course its motivating:)

Flipping a huge tire down the street ????

Motivation is a mild term for that shit..

New Idea for my W/O's to get me out of a rut are also nice.
Keep your eyes open at the other peeps in the gym and watch what they are doing. Ask them about it during a rest for them and learn how to hit the fibers differently..

I don't get motivation from this board, but I get some tips that help me in training, or what to eat, plus I get to express myself, about things that my real life friends are clueless on.

Honestly I am more motivated by the powerlifting board than this one here, but this is a great board. I used to be a big fish in a small pond. Not too many strong people where I lifted. But then I built a gym at my home, called it the DUNGEON, and became part of a cyber gym.

No longer is a 400 plus bench impressive. Powerlifterjay has done 625, and he is a part of my cybergym, cause he is on elite. No longer is a 400 plus deadlift going to cut it. Arioch pulls over 700. He is part of my cybergym too. We compare notes here. A 500 squat is no longer something to write home about, cause Freak 19 beats that by 300 freakin pounds.

Funny. I am always the strongest person in my gym, cause it is in my house, but since I started training there, I have been comparing myself to the really strong people in my cyber gym, and my lifts have gone way up. They have to. I have a lot of catching up to do.
