Does replacement therapy give results?

I just got my total test lab results from my Doc. I have 1.9 ng/ml and it says my range should be 2.5 to 11.5 ng/ml. Mind you I am only 29. I will most likely get replacement therapy. I have never used, but have been considering doing so. Now I find out that I have a low test level and could qualify for therapy. At these low doses will I see any results? With doctor monitoring me will I have to stick to his doses?

I suppose it depends on your doctor, but there's no harm in asking for your test replacement to be closer to the maximum in-range level rather than just within the range. He / She may say that high test carries more risks - i.e prostate, blood pressure etc... and may be against it, but I suppose it's worth a try.

And yes you should notice a nice increase in sex drive and strength :) plus your may feel a lift in your mood :D

It's important that your doc monitors you regularly to ensure everything is ok with the replacement therapy.

Do your homework. Most docs don't know shit about HRT. I went through 3, (one was an endo) before I found a good one.

Good advice!!There is a lot of info on the net. I am 46 and went thru two docs before I found one that wanted my levels on the upper side. There are several ways to go:shots, cream, pills or something new called Striant.I tried the cream and did not like it,not going to do pills(liver) and if I want to do shots I have to go to his office each time,so he gave me a scrip for Striant. It gives you 30mgs of test daily. I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks for the replies. I have an oppointment coming up with a specialist. Lets see what he thinks. I have been looking at several sites and have found good info on the boards. When I find out more from the docs I will post it. Powermedica was very informitive.

nsashbl01, AMEN BRO,
Doctors dont know crap. And now most are running scared over all the bad press AAS is getting.
Something to consider, after a couple of tests my doctor said I was at the "low end" and that we should give it another six months and test again. But apparently I have had high T levels all my life , a severe receding hair line since 2O a perputual woody until I was 40. I could hit the gym after a year off and see results in 2 weeks. While that was great it also hurt like hell when I turned 44 and the T level dropped.
So that is something to think about, what is/ was normal for you.

With therapy, you should see a considerably higher energy level. Low Tes results in lack of energy, lack of aggression (no always a bad thing), and, in general, a shitty, low key life. And, your sex drive will be promoted with therapy, not only the wants for sex, but the quality of orgasm will rise considerably. Therapy levels are NOT for body building, and in fact, if you are a body builder, I suspect you see little results, no matter how hard you work. Restoring yourself to "normal levels" (whatever in the hell that means) will benefit you all the way around in your life. Don't wait, and don't waste anymore time in not doing what your doc says...they won't hurt you, intentionally, at any rate :-) At replacement levels, you should not see the bad effects of testosterone, and if you do, they may be only temporary. Be prepared to lose some head hair...big deal. A mane of hair does not replace sex and energy to live.
