Does Marijuana ruin lives and entire societies?

yes, but i think you mean "carcinogenic" not "cancerous". Look the words up for the meanings.

all my references to medical are to disprove this cancer non-sense. yes i do believe in recreational use as well. and i tried to explain as did someone else about vegetable matter, vaporizing and what cannabinoids actually are. the aforementioned study on smoking used the harshest form (joints coupled with cig use) as the basis for this finding. cannabinoids are not carcinogens the plant is. you can remove the cannabinoid from the plant. this is a fact.

No, the study did not use joints coupled with cigarette use. Read it again. Really, if you aren't even reading or understanding the study, I don't put lots of weight on your opinion on the matter. I seriously doubt you are an oncologist if you don't understand the difference in the words "cancerous" and "carcinogenic."

However, continue to delude yourselves until you get cancer or lung disease.

I'm not opposed to medicinal use of marijuana and actually gave my mom marijuana when she had cancer so that she would have an appetite to eat. Hey, she was already terminally ill and dying because of pot, so it was too late for abstinence at that point, now wasn't it.

We are talking about casual pot smokers here not about doctor supervised cancer patients and the like.

I'm all for medicinal use of marijuana, but you are doing people a diservice if you are saying that smoking marijuana is harmless. When they are screaming in pain with lung cancer that spreads to their bones and brain you can pat yourself on the back for your great advice.
I would need to see some comprehensive data to back that up.

I know my personal experience doesn't speak for all, but I have one friend who is as cigg smoker, and he doesn't touch weed, but I have dozens of friends that like a little pot, and none of them are smokers.

my mom had breast cancer
she likes to eat carrots
therefore, carrots must have caused her breast cancer!!!

Thanks for continuing on your irrelevant and stupid tirade. No one here is arguing against medicinal marijuana uses or that there aren't more things besides cancer that marijuana effectively treats. I'm all in favor of medicinal marijuana. So your harping on it is making you look foolish. But go ahead. I suppose you are high and that is why you are having a hard time following the conversation.

A doctor would not trade one bad thing for another. Meaning, he wouldn't risk prescribing a medicine that is prone to give cancer to treat cancer. Second, if you all knew whats up, you would know that MJ don't treat cancer, it helps with the appetite and nausea from the effects of Chemotherapy. Which follows Cancer. Now, lets just take this in....

If MJ causes cancer, would I give it to a patient whom I just treated for cancer?

Isn't this a little off here?

Bro, I do tend to agree with your high level points, but I don't like seeing anyone insulted for their opinion. heather has some personal experience with weed (and its not good) she's never said it applies equally to everyone, but for her the effects were disastrous.

Its funny because I read your post and could see myself typing it nearly word for word! I'm starting to realize that the message comes across better when the tone is softer.

Yea you're right. I'm at the breaking point with everything that's going on and her posts just sent me over the edge.

So I apologize for the rudeness.

I still cannot reiterate how misinformed she is as you know.

Heather,

Here are just a few articles proving how misinformed you are.

(I know they're from NORML but it has links to scientific studies within them)

Cannabis Smoking Not Linked To Lung Cancer, Case-Control Study Says - NORML

Actually inhibits breast cancer cell growth?
Cannabidiol Dramatically Inhibits Breast Cancer Cell Growth, Study Says - NORML

Kills cancer cells

I'm sorry that you had a shitty childhood but I can tell you that there are MANY MANY more doctors, lawyers, execs, politicians, etc that smoke marijuana than you know. Hell I work with a guy who used to live in Cali who partied with these same people. I'm not talking about drinking and smoking weed either. I'm talking about coke, ecstacy, lsd, etc. This pertained specifically to very respected doctors and lawyers in Cali.

So by the logic that marijuana use leads to some sort of downward spiral really is complete nonsense. Sure if people let it take control of them and start to form a habit that interferes with ones life, they should immediately stop. But for the people that actually use it responsibly and use it as a form of relaxation just like most who come home after work and drink a beer is something that should be completely legal and accepted.

Just like the cliche' says; moderation really is the key

Ummmm...you are smoking without a filter. I read that smoking a joint is equivalent to smoking 14 cigs, as far as tar goes.

You are correct that when doing a post mortum, marijuana users do in fact have more tar on their lungs. I found this out from the pathologists who were showing 2 autopsies to us. (most crazy experience in the world lol)
