Does bone structure really make that much difference?

Arnold competed at 6'2 240lbs I believe and at a very low bodyfat. Well now I am 6'3 240-245lbs and at a much higher bodyfat than him but he simply DWARFS me in every aspect. I just don't get it, how can two people be the exact same size but yet one looks two times bigger than the other?

exactly what you said. your bodyfat is higher. lower bodyfat breedz the illusion of bigger muscle belliez

Maybe some illusion due to the bodyfat difference, but he supposedly had arms bigger than 20inches ... my arms are NOWHERE close.

say arnold was at 6-2 240lbz at 3%bf with 20 inch armz. now balloon him up to say 260lbz with 10%bodyfat. boom, bigger arms. when you diet, you lose size. you cant campare 12%bf with 4%.

I know a guy who has a big bone structure (the biggest I ever seen) but even weighing 20lbs more than me and lean he don't look as impressive (I've been told by him and others) because my medium bone structure holds more muscle and has much better curves to my muscles.

Bone structure as well as muscle bellies and joints make a big difference too. Smaller joints and longer fuller muscle belly's give the muscles a much larger appearance.

Arnold was 6'2 and competed anywhere from 225lbs-240, depending on year. His body fat, and most bodybuilders from that era was around 7/8%. He had very small wrists, incredibly high peaked biceps, and low hanging pecs, all which help make someone look bigger. He also had 27inch thighs, with 20inch calfs. The huge calfs, huge upper body, but smaller, yet athletic thighs also help create an illusion.

I am 6'3 254lbs, with 12% body fat, and my arms are only19inches. His look way bigger. But I bet if I was 245 (since I am 6'3 1/2, he was 6'2), maybe 250 with 7% body fat, I would look a whole lot closer to him.

So, bone structure, low bodyfat, certain genetics gifts, and many otther little 'tricks' help.
