Dating Agency?....

I have a friend of a girlfriend of mine who works at a dating agency. I have only met her once at a party, and while discussing occupations I told her that I thought that sort of service was a good idea for people that don't have much time to go out and meet people, don't have any single friends left in "the Group", over meeting wenches in clubs and pubs, knows what they are looking for......and I realized I was describing myself! No wonder I haven't had a date in 6 months! She said I should go in and see her and I said yeah, maybe one day.Anyway, she has called me at least every two weeks asking if I wanted to come into her office as she has some nice girls I should meet. Each time I have said no, maybe later on. I have mixed feeling as to actually do it or not.

Pros

* You get to tell the Match Maker exactly what you want in a women

* You get to see photos of them first (no surprises!) unlike a blind date

* You know what they are looking for

* You get to go on a date without the "will she, wont she"

* You save money, time and the bullshit involved in picking up in a club.

Cons

* You feel as though you appear desperate, even if your not

* There is no "Thrill of the Chase".Initially anyway

* Maybe it is just a money grab for the agency

* What do you tell people if you hit it off?

I don't know, what are you ideas on this?

I am married so I would have no need for this kind of service. I was just curious what the charge for this service would be?

Oh I'm sure!

Maybe they ought to have a sliding scale kind of price list.

Depending on if you got a hand job or blow job or even scored. Hell, if you got laid on the first date then they should charge the shit out of you. Come to think of it, that would be like legal prostitution. Anyway, I was just curious.;)

Telling people that you have met someone through a dating industry couldn't be any wierder than telling someone you bet your boyfriend on the internet. :)

Seriously...I have friends who have used the dating thing and they have had good experiences mostly. I don't see anything wrong with it...and the pros, IMO, definitely outweigh the cons. I have several friends who are married to the person they met.

Good ones to use...

or...your local dating network.

I think you should give it a try. Really...what do you have to lose?

What is this...Is this a friend of yours or of your girlfriend. And if you have a girlfriend why are you looking into going to a dating service?????

Haha...you know...I am not embarrassed about it at all....although I do make sure to tell them that I didnt' meet him on some random chat thingy...that I have known "of" him for a year and a half. haha...they think I'm a little weird, but WHO cares!!!

Don't worry, in 10 more years it will be so common....

You know...you are SO right about that. Imagine...explaining to your kids how you met your wife/hubby on the net....that will actually be old school by then...lol.

I suggest Elite:)

Playboy just did a big article on online dating services. It's starting to pick up momentum and is becoming more and more accepted.

never had any experience with a dating service, but I don't see anything wrong with it. It could definitely not be worse than picking up a complete stranger in some club. good luck

I agree, plus it may give you the opportunity to meet a number of women that you otherwise wouldn't have met. Perhaps you will meet someone, or at least meet some new friends. Why not give it a shot. If I wasn't married, I don't know where I would meet women. I'm certainly not going to at a bar unless I was looking for something quick and easy (shit - did I just say that?).

In other words, if I was single I would consider trying it.
