This is the list of competitors from the website:
The competitors include:
Davana Medina
Jenny Lynn
Christine Bergeron
Kim Chizevsky
Lena Johannesen
Elaine Goodlad
Kristy Robbins
Patty Garner Monica Brant
Mari Kudla
Lesli Russell
Sharon Christian
Adrian Chastain
Jamie Franklin
Renee Masi
(funny, Monica Brant was not on the list??!!)

Monica is on the list - she is next to Patty Garner. :)

I was there, and they didn't call out Lena until the very end for both rounds of swimsuit comparisons - I'm not sure why. She looked incredible - very lean - maybe that was the issue? It's hard to tell what they were looking for, especially when they announced Monica as first runner up. Everyone assumed she had it in the bag - very poised and elegant during all rounds. The only thing I saw was her back comparison wasn't the best - she wasn't really flexing, and she didn't look like she had as nice a V taper as Jenny Lynn. I know she has a nice V - I just think she was trying not to flex since the judges have been going back and forth on what they want to see in Figure.

I honestly have no idea what criteria they were using to judge Figure...

I thought Lena looked to lean. Her legs looked too thin. I don't know that they've actually decided what the hell is going on with Figure yet. A few amatuer figure competitors commented to me over the weekend that they get penalized if they are too muscular...told by local judges that they need to be less muscular than fitness competitors. Yet when you look at who finished in the top at this contest, they definately have alot of muscle.

Your friend really has great looking legs!

TImea was at the show (not competing), but looked horrible IMHO. If you remember what she looked like, take about 30 lbs off and that's what you have. She honestly looked like a skinny rail. I didn't recognize her the first time I walked past the booth.

I agree - I saw her at the Olympia and she was SO skinny. There was no muscle tone at all, very soft but thin.

They want little to no muscle and no definition (with or without muscle). In other words, very little weight training, good natural taper and mostly cardio will get you a good figure placing.

Monica didn't win? I thought for sure she would have taken it. Jenny-Lynn does look great though!

That is what they are supposed to want - but all those women have visible muscle and definition.... If I competed i nfigure, I would be SO confused....

That picture doesn't really do them justice, either. Jenny Lynn looked lean and trained - that's not a body produced by cardio alone. That's why I didn't really understand the callouts - I think Lena got hurt because she was thinner than the other girls - and she actually flexed during the quarter turns, so she looked leaner.

Of course, my tastes are much different than the judges, so I'm no good at figuring out what they want. For example, I think Stacey Simons (fitness) has an amazing physique, but she never makes the early callouts. I'm sure they think she's too muscular, but she's one of the few fitness girls with well developed hamstrings - and those shoulder caps are amazing!
