OK kiddies... PLAY FUCKING NICE!!

Anyways... yes, I have it too. Had it since I was a kid. Practically had to wear socks to bed in the freaking summer - LOL! Over the past several years since I have put on some LBM and some bodyfat (I used to be horribly skinny.) it is not nearly as bad. Now that the winter is here and my bf% is around 13/14% it is somewhat noticeable... sucks ass. I have to take a hot bath before bedtime just so I don't feel like a freaking popsicle. Although, after I eat, I perspire like a horse ....hehehhehee

My third daughter (who is the thickest - ALL OF MY GIRLS are varying degrees of skinny) seems to be the same way. Conversely, other three are always hot - running around the yard with no jacket and it is like 45 - 50 degrees. GEEZE! It is like I have to duct tape the damned coats to their backs..... I am constantly yelling at them, "Put your coat on for goodness sake! Aren't you cold?" The answer, "No, mommy." What is up with that?!

so what happens when people with this get on dnp?

when on dnp, I could go hiking in 2 feet of snow completely naked and still not even notice.

seem that poor circulation would be bad at assisting the heat removal and bad things would happen... but I'm just wildly guessing.

Raynaud's pnenomenon is a vasospastic disorder generally involving arterioles of the hands, distal lower extrmeties, and ears.

It can be primary or secondary. The most common cause of the secondary pathology is connective tissue diseases arising from autoimmune dysfunction (ex. is Scleroderma, Lupus). My hypothesis is that you have a primary disorder, which is certainly preferable.

It manifest's in three stages:

1. Pallor: the initial vasospam causes decreased cutaneous blood flow causing numbness, parasthesias, and pain in the affected digits.

2. Cutaneous cyanosis: the digits develop a blue-purple color caused by deoxygenated blood flow in the capillary bed.

3. Hyperemia: reopening of the digital artery resulting in increased blood flow to the affected digits causing blushing of the skin.

It can be triggered by cold temperatures, emotional stress, and drugs like tobacco, caffeine, antihistamines, amphetamines, cocaine, and especially B-blockers (atenolol).

Obviously, attempt to avoid exposing your epidermis to frigid weather and attenuate emotional stress. If this is unavoidable or unsuccesful, I think calcium channel blockers are still the drug of choice(nifedipine). Although I would trully reccommend you attempt to control the situation without pharmacologic intervention.

it can be passed on from the mother to her sons, but men tend not to have as severe symptoms as women. I got it from my mom.

Al, It's actually called "Reynaud's " Syndrome. I don't remember much about it except the cold hand thing-and that was way back in nursing school.

\Knee Pads... No, its actually called Raynauds.. here is the RAYNAUDS Foundation hope page if you want to argue the point with them, but I think the foundation ought to have the proper spelling...

By the way, thanks for chiming in Mr. Helper... Next time maybe you can try to add more to the conversation besides correcting non existant spelling errors?? Just a little friendly advice..
