does anyone else get faded after compound movements?

in my case, squats.
i always start off the day's training with a compound movement.
dls, clean and press, sqs, gms.
lately all i've been doing is squats...and after all my squat sets are done, i'm completely drained.
feel like going home...but i don't, and i slog thru some assitance work, though my heart isn't really in it.
a part of me thinks "hey fuck it, you got your squats in, you deserve to be crushed!"
another part of me thinks "you've been doing this for ten yrs, you should be able to handle it! you're not as in shape as you think you are!"

i don't use aas, i get excessive sleep, i have good endurance (run 20 miles a week)...what's the deal? AMm i being a nancy or is this normal?

You might be doing to many reps or too high weight. Maximal effort squats are very draining on intermediate or advanced lifters so that could be a possible reason why. I suggest ramping the weight or doing fewer reps and see how you feel after that.

I start all my work outs with compound movement to. I find it gives me even more power for the rest of my work out. I notice of It almost gets my mind and body pumped up and ready to lift.

Compound exercises are essential for mass building. I do them at the begining of the workout when I have all my energy.

A few people have already mentioned it, but I'll say it also. It wounds like you're body is telling you it needs some kind of rest.

Are you getting enough sleep? Enough food (the right kind?) If so you may just need a short deload period where you allow your body to recoup and get back lifting heavy. Try less volume for a week or 2 and see how that goes.

As for the pukeing (sp?), I haven't done that yet, I have a pretty strong stomach, but after lifting heavy deads, especially when training in the 5 rep range I have to sit down as the room starts to spin and I need to catch my breath. It's only on the last set when I am making a PR or near PR lift.

Bino, you are already overtraining with your smolov routine.

i think several people noted in your post that routine wasnt meant for anyone but the top elite lifters and that you will overtrain.

Well its been 1 or 2 weeks and your already over training. Kill that routine adn go with modded version of squat twice per week, even then you may over train do to the sets required.

If you are completely zapped after squats... it may be because you are doing it right.

I've seen almost half the pros I know and pretty much every significant strong man I've ever met flat on the ground gasping for air after squats.

One day Aaron Baker, Ronnie Coleman, and Roland Kickinger were all on the ground at the same time. We started betting on who could stand first. Roland won.

this is what i was thinking
though i'm doing smolov training, i don't feel overtrained.
i just feel extremely worked after squatting, as i should

That program was designed for literally the top 0.001% of the worlds genetic elite, the lifting equivalents of Ronnie and Jay.. it's like saying 'well I can handle some volume' and jumping into one of Arnie's 70 set workouts.

If you keep your load artifically low, you may make it though without too much damage but pushing it to the % the program reccomends is insane. Pay close attention to aches and watch you don't pick up any overuse injuries along the way

so far so good bro, other than getting my ass kicked everytime i get under the bar
i'm filming today so i'll post up later to demonstrate my good form (hopefully)
i'm gonna try to ride at least the basic mesocycle out...if i fail frequently or feel back strain then i'll quit. my lower back is sore...it it gets worse i'll back off
whatever the case, i've def found out training sq once a week does not work for me...

you know what bro, even before this i still was wrecked after compound lifts.
for a while i thought it was cause i smoked too much weed and killed my wind...but i quit smoking and started running, still to get faded after compounds.
i think they just stun my cns pretty hardcore...plus i'm natty so recovery time is longer

meh, it's a weak vid bro
not as deep as i'd like to be...proly sacrificing depth to cope with the volume
which i guess isn't that bad...only gotta get deep for one rep.

I puked when I did heavy squats last week.

Allow some extra time for your meal to digest before you squat. It's not hard to puke if lunch is still sitting in the stomach.
